Is it worth it?

Just recieved a mailing from them saying I was 'selected', looks like one of those old Ed Mcmahon letters. Anybody out there have any experience with this, is it worth it or did you find it to be more of a hassle? Thanks for the help.

Its good for a small discount to TGW.com on certain things. I think they have a few forums on there. Haven't had much luck with it on the free trial stuff... I think it is ok in the long run.

Yeah, I joined about 6 months ago with the promise of test stuff. I figured for 24 bucks for 2 years, you can't go wrong. I have yet to get anything, but I do get the magazine monthly and they send you some free stuff in the beginning (sleve of balls, bag-tag, ball marker, etc)

so with little chance to demo equipment it seems kinda pointless, the only thing i saw that interested me was the offer partial refunds on the rounds you play. but there's probably some ridiculous restrictions, and it only being a couple bucks a round.

I fell for it. I got the first video and then they keep sending videos that they want 30.00 a piece for. I got tired of sending the videos back and it took forever to get them to stop sending them.

 

My test item was a chip stick. I never even tested it. Somehow it fell out of my golf bag.

Not worth the cash...I was a member for 4 years and they finally sent me something to test...what was it? A Line Em Up...piece of plastic that clips onto the ball and you use a cheapo marker to draw the line through the slit. So angry I threw it out.

Horrible!!! I am not renewing my membership, they keep sending me free life member packages and want me to return the free renewal crap so i am stuck with them forever. THey stopped calling after i never picked up. I say scam, over 1.5 years, never tested anything, only got the crap in the beginning. The magazeens may b worth it, only because its 1 every 2 months... they are ok, not the best, but not horrible. The free sleeve of noodles, and the little "goodies" are ok as well. Its not a huge waste of money, but don't expect to win, or be treated like an individual.(Note this was my experience, maybe not somebody elses) ~that was disclaimer~

i canceled my account the day after i signed up and they sent me a full refund and i still get the magazines and my account is still in tact

I'm a member, and I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I have been picked for a product test, twice. The first one was for a sunscreen (not exactly the best) and the second was for a KZG U-Iron Hybrid. So for my subscription, I got a free club. They even posted my comments on the club in an issue. So far I am pleased, but if I hadn't been picked, I still enjoy the magazine.

I tried it once and got a sleeve of Maxfli Noodles, the a busted dvd that I returned and eventually cancelled my membership.

 

Unfortunately my GF bought me a speed cart fro my birthday from TGW last year and we immediately started getting the junkmail from them again - in her name. I think we avoided actually activating her membership.

lol, my dad's a lifetime member of this...paid like $200 for it...

 

He's gotten 3 test CLUBS, and probably 3-4 other random products like shoes, sunglasses, etc.

 

He also gets some random bag tags, iron shaft labels with his name on it, things that pin into the top of your grip with your information on them...

 

He's the average 4 days a week golfer at the club, so he loves it.

This isn't really a deal if you compare the "discount" prices with the actual sale prices on TGW you'll find you're better off w/o the discount. But that's a whole 'nuther story about TGW.

 

I joined when I first began playing a couple of years ago. I've received a "straw" (sorry, chip stick) to test and that's it. The 1st DVD is reasonability priced then they double after that. I meant to return the next one then forgot so I figured I would pay for it since it was my fault, not theirs. The 3nd didn’t show up but I was billed for it. I called and they were more than happy to correct the bill but when I asked to just cancel the DVDs then they began to deal over the price if I would keep receiving them. Right off the bat that told me the DVDs were overpriced since they offered to charge me $25, then $20 and finally $15 if I would keep them coming. I would have done it at $15 but I was ticked at that point since they were happy to take advantage of people who didn’t complain.

 

It turns out they actually have nothing to do with the PGA other than license the name. The company actually has similar programs with other sports/hobbies and their only interest is selling you lifetime memberships. The final straw for me was when I kept getting calls from India trying to sell the lifetime membership after repeatedly telling them I wasn’t interested. I finally had to get nasty after the nice approach didn’t seem to work.

I joined last year. The magazine is OK. Got some free balls, and some rebates on greens fees. So I probably broke even on that. I sent the first video back and haven't got any more. They sent me a little powder puff wind detector thing to test, I have not bothered to use it yet. Now they are hounding me to become a lifetime member.but that's not gonna happen. I will not renew.

I've gotten at least 4 packets with free ball markers and zipper clips for life long membership. THANKS FOR THE FREE COINS suckers... lol i'm never going to renew, or join their cult of underground scamming...
