Which wedge are you using?

I carry one additional wedge to my pitching wedge from my ironset. It is always 56* and could be anything. Wedges in rotation right now are: Mizuno MP Oxide 56*, Ping M/B 56*, Titleist Vokery Black Nickel 56*, and a Titleist, well I'm not sure what to call it, it has only Titleist written on it with the loft. It is so simple and feels so good but I know nothing about it. All these wedges are great depending on the day and course.

Mizuno MP Series Black Ox 52 and 58 degree is my first choice combination.

I played and loved 588 gunmetals for quite a long time but my new MPT BN's are softer, spin more and are just as versatile. I'm no longer in search of a better wedge.

CG10 black pearl wedges - standard bounce 52 & 56 and low bounce 60* I really like the feel and touch of these wedges.

Now using NP1 custom grounded. really nice bite and very reasonably priced.

Scratch Wedges for the last 3 years. Probably gone through about 8 of them though... so many options to choose from!

I carry a mizuno mp60 47 deg (s300 Dynamic Gold shaft, lamkin torsion control oversize grip), 49 deg pelz (v groove rifel 5.5 pelz/rifel shaft - winn/pelz mid size master wrap grip), 60 deg pelz ( box groove pelz/rifel 4.5 shaft - winn/pelz mid size master wrap grip) and a 60 deg alien (face is the orginal design circle cut outs - hydro shaft with an over size winn # 7 grip). This combination works best for me for all bounce needs and turf conditions. I have found the shaft / grip combo may be as important as grind or head chosen.

 

 

 

The pelz wedges my be the best keep secret, for the every day golfer, ever :) . Unlike the other wedges mentioned they might never need to be replaced due to ware and with the extra long length grips allow you triple the actual working range of your wedges.

I was using Vokeys, experiment with 588 Chrome, 588 RTG, and ended up with a Spin Milled Vokey 60, and a regular Vokey 56, and I couldn't be happier. Don't really need the spin milled in a 56, I use the 60 around the greens.

 

Love the 60-04 (low bounce) out of bunkers, it was just automatic, and I am usually terrible at bunker play, 3/5 SS after not playing out of bunkers for a couple months, that was nice.

I have been a fan of the 588's, esp. the rtg grind, but I went with the WG-504 from Srixon. 56º & 60º.

I am currently playing TM RAC TP's and love them, but I would also consider the new Sonartec wedges. I tested the Sonartec's back in December and absolutely loved them. They are easy to play from any lie and the grooves put some mad spin on the ball.

I've played 588's for a looooong time. Switched to Vokey's last year. And, just switched over to X-Tours (52,56 & 60 with the MD gooves) and am VERY pleased. The lastest from Rodger Cleveland and they have to be the best looking wedges at address ever. Buttery soft as well.

Recently I have tried CG10s, rac tps and vokeys. The spin on the cg10s is unbelievable, but they chew up balls fast. The tps also have great spin, but the bounce may be too little. I have been playing with the vokeys and have found them to be best suited for my game. 52* 200 series and 58* spin milled.
