Shaft Question

I've been loving my MX-23's since comming over from the X-Tours, however I am noticing about a club loss in distance and some extremely high ball flight. I have the stock Dynalite shafts which I know is the culprit, but I wanted to hear from some who have been using DGSL shafts in their Mizzy's. I love the feel of the shafts with the head, but man do they launch it up there.

I've been hitting the MP-60's with the DGSL R300 flex for about six month's now. Yep, they get the ball up in the air, but I've found the SL's give me added club speed which ultimately got me more distance. I've gained about 10 yards on average vs my old standard weight shaft. ;)

maybe check the lofts if you are worried about distance. if you like the feel of the shafts, you could try bending the lofts a degree or 2 strong, this would fight the extremely high flight without changing the feel.

I recently purchased a set of MP-60s with DGSL S300 shafts. I've played 2 rounds with them and am still getting used to them

The lightweight shaft makes a difference. I'm getting more distance than my previous set (Hogan GCDs) - about 10 yards. I've overshot a couple greens because I've not gotten used to the distance increase. The biggest increase has been with the 3 - 6 irons. I could never get more than 200 yards out of a 3 iron and this weekend I hit a green from 215. The ball flight may be a little higher, but not substancially. The overall result is a longer iron that holds greens better. The backspin with the short iron has been great, the ball sticks right where it hits or even spins back a little.

Overall, I love the irons. I tried a lot of demos before I bought and am sure I made the right decision.

I bought MX900s and found the stock shaft to be be very light so I got Dynamic Gold S300 in mine, played today and shot 89 in the wind which is good for me putter was letting me down badly as i was hitting greens all day........

Seems to be a little confusion here. The Dynalite golds in the MX900 and MX23s will launch the bal very high. If you want something with a similar feel but lowering launch, you want to try Dynamic Gold SLs. I think that is what most people have in other Mizuno irons.

I love the dynamic gold SL but never really cared for the Dynalites. My mx23s were sooooo much better with dynamic golds. See if you can find a set with dynamic gold to try. Might be worth it to bring dow your ball flight

Yeah i would agree,i have mp 60 with dynamic gold s300 sensicore,and they have a very nice flight too them.I think a lighter shaft would definately bring the trajectory up a bit.
