Axivcore Green tour shaft + Nike Dymo2 head: review + launch monitor numbers

Loving this shaft!

I recently reshafted my Nike Dymo2 STR8 9.5 driver with the Axivcore tour green 75 shaft. I play my driver 1 degree open and 44.5” long. The original axivcore blue shaft was ok but my ball flight was really high at times and I felt it was a little whippy. After switching to the tour green, I noticed a big difference. My ball flight has lowered dramatically and I hit some really long drives. I only had it on the course once but loved it. Longest drive of the day was 308 yards (according to the gps) and I have three witnesses J. Most of my drives were around 275 range and it was pretty wet here in Oregon. I hit about 60% of the fairways but my misses were all playable.



Today the Bridgestone ball fitting team was in town so I went during lunch to see what this combo can do with the right ball. Note: I’m 5’ 6” 155lbs so I’m not a big guy.



Average numbers with my Tp red ldp golf balls:

Swing speed 106.8

ball speed 150.8

launch angle 10.9

spin 2633

yard 269



Average numbers with the B330:

Swing speed 106.7

ball speed 153.2

launch angle 10.5

spin 2555

yard 274



I think he said my smash factor was 1.44 whatever that means. I don’t really know anything about these numbers but the guy said he was impressed with these numbers and that I shouldn’t change anything with the setup. For those that understand this stuff, do you think I would increase my distance with a 10.5 degree head?



Conclusion: I really like the axivcore green shaft and will consider getting a 85g stiff for my 3 wood.

A little more launch angle would do you good, but your spin numbers look pretty solid. I would stick with your 9.5 head. Moving to a 10.5 won't give you any noticable gains. Plus your current combo will have lots and lots of roll out when the ground is dry.

If your angle of attack was about level, then your numbers with the B330 are very good. The Tour Green is a super shaft, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 85 series as a fairway shaft.

Thanks for the input. I was told by playing the 9.5 head 1 degree open it becomes 8.5 that is why I figured a 10.5 might be better.

Well, tough spot to be in. Your lm numbers are pretty solid, which is why it gets so much tougher to really dial it in from here. Strictly by the numbers I would have to think that getting your LA to 12 or 13* and spin around 2800 would be just about as good as it gets. Again, your numbers are really solid, and if you like what the ball is doing, I would say don't change a thing.

Are you playing that shaft in stiff or X-stiff. I am looking at that same shaft and am undecided which flex to get. I have a little more SS than you but not much. I average about 110 with the driver and I'm torn between ordering a stiff or Xstiff.

Anyone have any suggestions. I have a fairly fast tempo and a late release.

I'm playing the 75 stiff. I thought about getting the 65x but I'm glad I went with what I got. When I go after it my swing speed can get up to 110 and I don't feel like its too much for this shaft.
