Small local shop has em
First things first. Not trying to make money or anything like that. There is a small repair golf shop that takes clubs in on trade that I go to frequently becuase the old man that runs it is so nice and he never knows what the value of the things that he has are. Well, I was in there today and noticed a set that he had just took on trade in. They are Taylor Made Coin Forged CB-3-6 iron and MB-7-PW. I noticed that I couldn't find a serial number on them. Also, the PW had a milled face and had the loft marked 48*. Shafts were S300 with a TP label. Remember, this is a little shop that mostly has a bunch of old outdated clubs in it that never sell and these just kinda stood out to me. He wants to sell the set for $400.00. They do have bag wear but that didn't appear to be that bad. Im left handed and they would do me a damn bit of good but I always try to help this guy out by finding homes for his equipment because it seems that he struggles. Do you think these things would sell well or is it just a waste of time?? I don't know much about Taylormade equipment but they seemed to be a nice find. I could try to get some pics in a few days. Anyone have an opinion??

Hi all,

I own the exact same set, which I bought from Golf Town here in Canada. Mine didn't come with a serial number either. I can honestly say that if I didn't own these clubs anymore, I would seriously call this guy - they're that good! In terms of the price, it all depends on the condition, but they are definitely the best feeling clubs I have ever owned. Mind you, I also own the 54* and 60* Chrome wedges that match perfectly.

Word of warning to perspective buyers - These clubs are meant for the better player in every sense of the word. They are 2* weaker in loft than most tweener or beginner clubs - see specs below:

Dynamic Gold S300 S 0.355 127 D3

Dynamic Gold X100 X 0.355 124 D3

If you're coming from a tweener or beginner set - you will lose distance per iron. i.e you're now gonna be hitting a 7-iron where you used to hit an 8-iron. It's definitely a shot to the ego, but what you loose in distance, you make up in spades in terms of accuracy and probably feel.

Also, whomever buys this set, please check with Taylormade regarding warranty status first. Eventhough they only offer a 2 year warranty, there is another part of that warranty agreement which states that they will service clubs up to 5 years after the last retail date of that model. These clubs were sold in 2003, so you should be able to still get them repaired if necessary.

I really do hope that these clubs find a good home! In the right hands, these clubs will be surgical weapons that will allow their user to fire at flags all day long with precision and trajectory control unheard of by most other clubs.

Good luck!

the set sounds exactly like my TM combo set that I picked the beginning of last season. I'm not sure if mine has a serial or not, but I'll check when I get home tonight. As for the milled 48* PW, mine is milled as well, but it is the only club that has a milled face.

$400 sounds a little pricey if the condition isn't that great, as I bought my set new for $625 CDN at the time.

They're a great set of clubs though nonetheless!
