anyone playing the mizuno mx 300

I am playing the mp 30 right know, was thinking about updating to the mx 300. was wondering if anybody is playing the mx 300. What do you like or dislike about them..

great forgiving iron with super nice soft forged feel. lofts are a little strong so i had mine weakened. i went from the 60's to these, so it was pretty dramatic.I play off 1 and would never play a blade like iron after hitting these.

if your handiap is low then u might not like these cuz they are a little clunky compared to the mp30s and less workable
but if u want more forgiveness while still having a forged iron then this club is perfect

These are my favorite irons I have played. They are about a club longer than my last set with the same shafts. I love the way they set up, they give me confidence. They are on the smaller side as far as cavity backs go, but they are very forgiving. I am convinced these irons have the perfect sole for me. The only negative I can come up with is you can see the cavity on the 3 iron at address, but after you pop one off 215+ it gets alot harder to see.lol I had my lofts weakened slightly and have been loving these sticks.

I play MP-32s and demo hit the MX-300s this past spring at the Greater Madison Golf show and the 300s are slightly more forgiving but dont have the feel than the 32s do.

My pops just went to these a couple months ago after mingling with some obviously less forgiving Titleist cavities for a long time... and he his iron play is the best I've seen from him in at least 5-6 years.

I know I'm in the minority, but the MX-300s (KBS Tours) did not work for me. I think the soles were too wide for my swing. By contrast, the MP-58s (KBS Tours) are much more playable for me though according to the target players suggested by Mizuno, the 300s should be a better match.

I just added them to the bag and I am very pleased. I particularly like the sole, seems to work in most every lie I have found! Now, they are not the same feel or look as my MP-32's, but in the slight game improvement area, very hard to beat. I have owned and played X-22, AP2, I15, I10 and the MP32's. The MX 300 seem to blend the most good features all in one set. They are strong lofted, but Mizuno custom can adjust to your liking. I went with X100 TTDG soft stepped, KBS didn't really allow me to feel the head. The Mizuno shaft analizer seemed to work as - first swing on course with a 6 iron was just pure and a pin seeker!

Obviously I am happy with the clubs, but, like you always hear - get the right shaft for you.

It is not the "butter" feel of the MP-32's, but forged, some helpful cavity back and honestly, these seem to allow enough working - can give them a fade or draw.

I kept putting off the purchase becase I was afraid they would look clunky - well after a few rounds they look pretty darn good hitting those greens!

Best of luck deciding - but I have tried everything this year and think I am set!

Bought my MX 300s about two months ago. Love them. Although forgiving, they have a significant degree of workability. My instructor is a Mizuno rep and told me that they are being discontinued.

Has anyone heard an explanation on why Mizuno would discontinue a successful iron after just one season?

i like my MX-25's better. i think the 300's are overrated. they are a bit clunky to look at, and arent the most forgiving club in the game improvement category

They will be [u]miles[/u] more forgiving than the MP-30s. I have played them for 6-8 rounds with KBS shafts and really like them a lot, except that I ordered them 2 degrees weak and there is now too much bounce on, which doesn't work as I am a sweeper. In soft conditions, they are great but I play a variety of courses and will opt for something with a thinner sole and less bounce (x-forged 2009). The 300s are plenty forgiving and offer workability. In many ways, the perfect set of irons (if not for the bounce). If you are a digger or go down and after the golf balls, they will be very good.
