I was just at a local golf shop the other day and noticed the new Adidas and UA line. Both carried a 'winter' trouser that actually didn't look to bad. I cannot comment on performance, but they sure did look toasty...

Wool dress pants, cheap, stylish and wool, you are warm but not too hot.

Polyester does not regulate temperature very well.

Make sure to get the thickness based on the temp outside.

I am in the mid 30s age, but dress like a older dude.

Performance fabrics I find do not work well. The wind passes right through them. I find that wool and corduroy work best to keep warmth in. I also have some Kahkis that are flannel lined that are nice as well.

If it is windy out, I wear my Gore-Tex rainsuit....top and pants.

I've tried a pair of Under Armour pants I forget what the were exactly called but they have a fleece lining inside and a polyester shell to keep the wind out. They were quite warm.

UA Cold gear pants are quite toasty. Not lined like the ones metsmc is talking about but really comfortable.

If money is not an option then the UA pants. Last year, I used Merino wool long johns under regular pants and it was pretty good. This year, I just bought a pair of kaki, flannel lined pants at Cabellas (closeouts $15). The pants themselves are very heavy just to hold, but for that price I couldn't resist. Should be okay on the course.

Flannel lined khakis are available from places like LL Bean and Cabela's. I use 'em down to about 35 degrees, then I stay home...lol

What are the good brands of wool slacks now a days? I used to wear Corbin but I can't find them any more.

I can wear shorts into the low 40s so its not really an issue with me. For lightweight warmth take a look at the Winter Silks line. I do get cold on top and wear the silk long john tops underneath whatever I have on.
