honestly i cant figure a difference besides the looks. i own an x forged, i love it, and will soon replace my cleveland with another cally.

the grooves are the same (MD in my 60, tested the MD in jaws). the grinds are pretty much the same. made out of the same material. maybe im not good enough to detect a difference in feel, but i play to scratch and think they both feel awesome. 1020 endo forged i think...

these clubs are spin machines. they aren't too forgiving, but its a wedge, how much can you miss by? you miss, youll know it. you nut one, and itll hit a perfect low spinny ball flight that feels like things i cant describe in detail in a public forum.

i love the x-forged, but honestly the jaws isnt a big enough improvement to warrant the extra dough. same wedge, different finish. cant go wrong with either. ive got callaway x forged irons in a raw finish, so i stripped the finish off the vintage x forged to match.

ive never been a fan of people who play matched sets. ive always believed in playing what fits you best and you like the best (unless you get paid...). historically ive tried to get as many different brands in my bag as possible, but for some reason ive fallen for callaway. my raw x-forged are the business, and the ft-9 doesnt fit me the best (that goES to the ping i15) but i look at the club and it just screams to me to kill it and hit it straight. the last thing i wanted was another cally club, but my sonartec lob wedge needs to be replaced. i tried vokeys, vokeys with custom shafts and grinds, pings, nikes, other customs, whatever. i loved the shaft in the TM xFT wedge, hated the way it looked. i LOVED the cally wedge, so i flipped in a KBS shaft and i cannot get enough of the club. jaws or not, warn the GF/fiance/wifey; be prepared to start sleeping with your wedge its so awesome.

just be prepared to retire some golf balls- the grooves on these guys are rough and eat golf balls like nobodys business.

I got rid of my Jaws the spin was way to much stopping way to short and shredding way to many balls. I have the X forged 64 which spins and fits the bill for me. If I want more of rolling pitch , chip I use the mizuno 56 with the spinner shaft when hit light the ball will run out a bit.

I've played them both. I think the X-Forged has better feel than the Jaws. When I'm hitting a wedge 40 or 50 yards, I am much more accurate with the X-Forged than the Jaws. I game 3 X-Forged wedges and love them. I don't believe Cally makes the X-Forged anymore. I sent them an email telling them that I wouldn't buy a Jaws when I replace my wedges, I would go elsewhere unless they continue to make a traditional wedge, whether it be an X-Forged or the same thing under a different name.

I play both now, in stock config (minus lie angle). I agree with putt4_66, the X-Forged feel better (softer) but I hit the JAWS just as well if not better. I do however, feel like I can finesse shots more with the X-Forged. The JAWS on the other hand feels more solid but it doesn't cut up balls any more than the X-Forged as they both have the same grooves (the non-conforming versions). Mine are both C-Grind, default on the JAWS, optional on the X-Forged. There are plenty of X-Forges on the market, and though I can't confirm if they are still made, they certainly won't be after Dec. 31, 2010. Only the JAWS comes in C-C (Conforming for Competition).
