Any issue with taking a rangefinder on an airplane ?

I'm heading to Florida this weekend and just got a new rangfinder. Do you guys leave yours in your golf bag, or carry it on? Was concerned that it could get stolen if I leave it on the bag. At the same time, with security these days, who knows what's legal anymore. Thanks.

Don't get caught with it...it can be used as a weapon. Have you even seen how far you can throw one.... In all honesty, I just pack it in my golf bag and never have an issue. Enjoy your new toy.

I've traveled a ton with mine both domestically and internationally. Have never had any issues with it. I'm also jealous that you're heading to FL for the weekend! Make sure to post your results and the courses played when you get back. Have a great time!

Thanks, Looking forward to the trip! When you say you've traveled with yours a ton, did you carry it on, or leave it in your golf bag ?

It's always in my golf bag wrapped in a couple of golf towels for a bit of extra protection. If I carried it on I'd forget to bring it to the course.

I've carried mine on many times no problem. I did it that way to make room for my wife's shoes etc. in my golf travel bag. Actually there is plenty of room in my Club Glove but it is too easy to get it over the 50 lb. limit. They did run my carry on bag though the scanner twice to look at the dozen pro V's stuffed in some shoes and the rangefinder.

Always throw it in my carry on, never an issue...Optics are easily damaged if golf bag is tossed around onto conveyer belt, luggage cart, plane etc...which doesn't happen, I think airlines are careful with bags

I always carry it on. Heard of a few stories of them coming up missing when you arrive. Better safe than sorry.
