how awesome is it?

Our annual golf trip is approaching in May, and I'm wondering who has played at Dancing Rabbit resort (Azaleas and Oaks)? Is it as amazing as advertised? It's a 9 hour drive for our group, so we would expect a great experience and courses... thanks!

I have done the gambling trip but never tried the golf course. I have a few friends that take a trip/golf package there about every year or two and they have told me it is fantastic. As per their golf package they stay in a house on the golf course(directly beside the casino) and have unlimited daily golf. Unlimited use of the practice facility as well as club storage is included as well. Both courses are usually in Golf Digest's top 100 resort courses you can play so it must be pretty nice. I am looking forward to going with them this summer to try it out for myself. I hope you guys enjoy it. Cheers...

Its nice. Only played one of the two. Would loved to have stayed at the course.

The oaks is good. The azalea course is great. Now with all courses everything is a little skewed by how the golfer played. There is not much to do at all in the town there except gamble and play golf so weigh that in if you are driving 9 hours. Im about 3 hours away so if you need an extra to fill out a foursome one day just give me a shout.

thanks stewm 67... having played so many courses in alabama, i get the feeling that dancing rabbit might be very very similar to what our group has already experienced... i want the azaleas to blow me away and i have a sneaking feeling that won't be the case, simply because i've played many other fabulous places in the southeast... namely limestone springs, farmlinks, and capstone club.... anyway, have you played the dogwoods in grenada, ms? what kind of shape will it be in at the end of may usually?

if you want an MS Casino trip, got to Fallen Oaks (Beau Rivage). Beautiful course, plus many others down there too. The casino's for Pearl River are not doing well, and the Golden Moon is only open a portion of the time. Biloxi/Gulport has a lot more to do away from the course with much better food!

Yeah not sure it is any more stunning that RTJ Trail course. A little less traffic. But on an overall experience its not like you are playing TPC Sawgrass Pinehurtst or the Ocean Course or something.

I agree with JB Newton. If you are looking for a top notch course, you may want to try the Gulf Coast and try Fallen Oak, Shell Landing and Grand Bear.

I haven't been to Grenada in about 5 years. The course was in good condition then but really cant comment as of now.

Best courses other than on the coast to look at would be Old Waverly in West Point, MS. They have a stay and play package. Renunion in Jackson MS. And Canebrake in Hattiesburg.
