Where to play nice courses?

I have some friends going to Clearwater next week to play golf. They need the nicest course they can play, (open to public). Price is not an object. Where is the best place for them to play?

Three of the guys are members of a touring band you've heard of if you're over 50. Good golfers looking for a place to play while on a tour stop. Maybe even a private club you belong to and are willing to host?

Well Bill, I'm definitely over 50 and I'm sure I would recognize the names but to answer your question, there are several in the Clearwater area that are nice courses to play. I live in Ohio so if I want to play golf I have to go south and if I go south, I have to go to Clearwater because that's where my sister lives and the room rate is very reasonable. I go down every month starting in Dec. through March. Just got back and I played a couple of course I have not played before and they were great. If you don't want to drive any great distance then I would say Westchase or Fox Hollow, especially Fox Hollow. If you want to call Eastlake Woodlands CC you might be able to talk your way onto that course (the north course) I'm sure they would be able to accomodate you. Of course there is always Innisbrook a few miles up 19 about a 30 minute drive, they are playing a PGA tournament there this week. World Woods is about 30-40 minutes up the road. Cheval is over by Lutz, a great golf course, one of my favorites and if you are over there, TPC is over there as well. Anyway, there are some really nice courses around and I would say that if your "friends" are well known they can problably get on almost any course they want to play with a phone call or two. I have to mention one course in particular, Southern Hills Plantation CC in Brooksville, it's an hour drive north but it is a great course. It's a Pete Dye design and it is a pleasure to play. It's private but it can be had if you know what I mean.
