Trackman Conference LDA coverage

So I just got back from the Trackman users conference and they talked about the 2010 LDA and gave some swing/ball speed statistics. One interesting thing they discussed was how in 2009 Sadlowski was far and away the fastest in terms of ball speed, but they said in 2010 there were more than a few guys that caught him in ball speed. My question for all the bombers out there is why do you think the gap has been closed?

The folks at Trackman thought fitness played a role but didn't have any solid info suggesting such......

Who knows hott clubs some how,people using illegal gear who knows or maybe people just caught up..For the people that are gonna say you cant use illegal gear than you need to wake up,not sayin that is in fact what happend.

You can not use illegal gear...I repeat you CANT use illegal gear...Trust me Unless your clubs migrate over CT while you are hitting ( which can easily happen) or you figure out a magic way to extend your shaft on the way to the tee. This is the RWLD championship we are talking about here correct? Not an LDA tour event? The check in process is exponentially more precise at worlds. They measure all your clubs. And they check the ct of your heads, if you make it to a position to cash a check. If it fails, they pull it and mail it to you. They do this randomly during the whole tournament. And when you make the final 8, you better believe those clubs are legal, and all have been checked. If they are illegal the face just migrated on the range or on the tee after the testing. Trust me on this. If you want something to blame for the speed increase, I would look at the new Slazenger golf ball being used. It produces extremely fast ball speeds with someone capable of compressing it. They are super balls!!

fitness and also because golf is getting more popular with athletes your fishing in a bigger pond now. Athletes are saying no to basketball, baseball ect.. to play golf. This is making a huge impact in the game.

Definetly going to back him up here-
Clubs are randomly pulled and checked throughout the competition week and all are checked to make sure they are legal
length is measured-ct is checked and a sticker goes on them to show they are 'legal'.
For the finals....every club is checked and if they have 'migrated to much' (which happens when you have guys beating balls at 140-150 swing speed) they are pulled by the LDA so they are not used.
Then it's crunch time to get them built with new heads before finals start
They check thoroughly- I know because I am fortunate enough to be one of the guys running around building for some of the guys for finals

The numbers have increased because of the talent coming into the sport-guys are working full time to improve and take this seriously- you get out what you put in and guys put alot into this -
forget the 'drugs' -forget the 'illegal' gear- most of these guys just put all they have into it
