DVD series, is it any good?

Hey all,
I just got an email advertising the Leadbetter Interactive DVD series.
Does anyone know much about it or if it's worth it?

It's a fantastic 5 disc set for only $ 99, that's right! Only $99.00.
Apparently he wants me to buy it enough he'll give me $10 off if I buy it before 8/31 so I only have a few weeks to make a decision. If he was throwing in some ginzu knives or some oxyclean I'd have bought it already, but since that's not part of the deal I thought I'd check with you guys/gals.

Uh . . yes and no. I really like the fact that you can video tape your swing and then using the software, diagnose your problems. The bad thing is you swing has to be consistently inconsistent for the drills that will match your flaws to work. If you have a slice one day and a hook the next, you, like myself, will just be guessing. However, it does have a stock pile of drills for hooks, slices, fat/thin, shanks etc. If one is to arise, you can just pop it in the dvd or dvd-rom and see if any of the drills work. The best thing probably is how he shos you to build your set-up to make the best swing possible, i.e stance grip posture. The software alone will cost you 100 bucks, or so I have saw.

The DVD's are really good and very professional. The V2 software is great...as long as your willing to really see your swing and work on the things you want to improve.

I think DL is more of a two-plane instructor so keep that in mind. I'm a natural one-planer and some of his fundamentals really screwed me up.

I am a proponent of the DL interactive. I think it is excellent, especially the software, which allows you to diagnose your swing flaws. The slow motion views of Charles Howell III's full swings with irons, driver in different positions was also informative for me. I paid $69 for mine through Golfsmith F&F sale, and it was much better and cheaper than five training aids I have at home. It allows you to be your own coach if you've got a video camera. In addition, there are some useful drills based upon the flaws you've diagnosed on the video.

Here are my observations on the Leadbetter Interactive DVD's and CD software:

* It's much too generic and basic for me. Much of this info seems to be geared towards beginners.

* The slow-mo sequences are VERY helpful to visualize how your club impacts the ball, and how it visually demonstrates swing faults.

* The software crashes on me if I use video from my digital Camera. LI support mentioned I need a true Camcorder video, in order for the software to work properly. (sigh) I suppose that means I have to buy a Camcorder, when I was hoping to use my Digicam, which takes low-res .mpg videos.

* I've tinkered with several pro's swings sent to me - and it is fun and interesting to watch their movements in slow motion, and "analyze" the pro's swings. At the time of this writing - I have not been able to get my own swing uploaded, due to the crashing problem (on low-res .mpgs from my digicam)

* Be careful with the interpretation of what your swing requires, and the drills. Most of us are not instructors, and it's easy to build bad habits, from interpreting the information incorrectly. I would think this product would allow certain individuals to make changes to their swing that may not be correct to their body type or swing habits.

Hopefully I can write more once I get a proper Camcorder with the resolution that LI requires. Overall - I find it a useful product, if you utilize it correctly.
