Wilson Golf has worked really hard over the last few years to really re-brand itself as a performance golf equipment manufacturer. They have brought back the Staff line of clubs with a more traditional look and feel. The newest addition to the family is the much talked about Ci6 iron.

Ci6 stands for Control Iron 2006.

This iron directly targets the mid-handicap golfer. The Ci6 combines the looks and feel of the Pi5 performance iron with some of the technologies that make the Di5 distance iron so forgiving.

The Ci6 is a mid-size head with a full cavity and small undercut to provide good forgiveness on off-center hits while the reduced offset and thin sole allow for more control and workability. The reduced offset and thin topline give the club a classic look desired by the better player.

The set is available with the True Temper Taper Tech steel shaft or UST Nano Tech graphite shaft. Both shafts have progressive bend points to produce higher, longer trajectories with the long clubs and lower, more controlled shots with the shorter ones.

This is a very simple looking golf club but Wilson has thrown in some nice touches to really enhance the way it performs. The elastomer layer in the cavity is a good vibration dampener and the flighted shafts are great for most players in this category.
