Clicgear Seat

anyone get their hands on a clicgear seat yet? or seen one in person to sit on it? thinking about picking one up but wanted to see if anyone has had any first hand experience with it. not supposed to be released until mid may but in case anyone got one early. thanks

Bumping this thread to the top; was considering this cart and seat and would like to hear from others who have one.

I have a bad back, so carrying is out. When I ride carts the minimal suspension, seems like the resulting bouncing / compression on my back causes some lingering pain late in the round or the following day.

Thought a push cart may be a good alternative to help get into better shape, enjoy the game more, and strengthen the back along with the exercises I am doing per the doctor. The seat would be handy to sit for a minute or two here and there throughout the round and give the back muscles a break.

Would appreciate any feedback.

I have the seat. And I find it very handy, especially on slow days.
However,if you're suffering from a bad back, it may not be ideal.

It's a hard plastic seat (no padding) and once you put your weight on it, it presses against the ground to give stability. This forces you to sit quite low to the ground which might cause you some difficulty standing back up with the bad back

Wow, thanks. I hadn't considered that angle at all. Standing stationary is what aggrevates my lower back, moving I'm typically OK. I appreciate your thougtfullness about the low height, something to ponder before sinking cash into this.

Question -- when you fold the cart up to put it away, do you have to remove the seat and install it when you unpack it, or does it stay attached?

With my Clicgear, I do as I have with other carts - I just sit on the tire. A seat is just another thing to push around. If it is wet or whatever, I just fold my towel and put it on the tire before I sit on it.

I have had the seat for some time now. I don't always put it on (You have to take it off to fold the cart), especially when I'm first off in the morning. In my league I always have it on. Sitting down for 30 seconds or so makes a bog difference in how I feel. Yes, the seat is rather low, but I usually have a club in my hand anyway, so I use it as a cane to rise. I think it was money well spent.

Every Doctor and article I've ever read about back health says walking is excellent and sitting is bad for your back. Instead of sitting (and provided you can do this) I find that squatting way down so my butt is resting my heals and leaning forward, is a great way to give your back a quick rest and benefit of a stretch during a round. Obviously check with your Doctor if you question stretching your back like that.

Also, keep up the back exercises your Doctor gave you-- I'm hitting the ball farther because of the stretching I'm doing.

Well that certainly is a huge incentive to keep it up!

Just a follow up -- the seat is well worth the money. Let a foursome play through Monday night, nice to be able to sit down and stretch back muscles versus standing around waiting.

I found that its not too low to the ground either, but I can see how the height could be difficult for someone with back issues.

Great cart, great seat!!! Walked 18 Monday and nine yesterday evening.
