Is one pound a big difference between carry bags?

It may sound like a stupid question but I know there is a threshhold when walking where you can really tell the difference between a <4 versus a heavier bag.

The reason I am asking is because everyone suggests the Ping 4 under and Sun Mountain 3.5 Superlight as the best carry bags on the market right now. And this topic probably gets beat over the head but what topic doesn't? I am just concerned because I started the game 2 years ago and I have been using a superlight weight Sun Mountain carry bag that I got with my high school team and it is great except there is no pocket space and the clubs are all crammed in there. I am looking to make a switch since I have to return the bag before I graduate but I am just affraid it will be a huge jump. My current bag is about the same weight as the 4 Under but online the 3.5 is listed as like 4.7 pounds and I am just curious if that is a big jump in terms of carry bags?

I love the look and weight of the 4 Under but I also would prefer more pockets so I can keep rain gear and a light jacket for cooler days instead of having to switch them out before the round and possibly being stuck without one or the other on the course. Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

I doubt youll be able to even tell. Jumping from a carry bag to like a TM TMX bag youd feel a huge difference, but you should be OK.

i went from a 4lb bag to a 6lb bag and i haven't felt it. maybe on a hilly golf course it will make a difference.

plus it sounds like you might not old enough to be legally carrying beer yet, lugging a bunch of cans around the course is what kills your back.

No I am only 18, but since I will be playing in the fall for the club team at my school maybe it is time I learn to practice with a 6 pack in the bag? That way if I get a few too many over par I can just make the most of the best of my round! :cheesy: Just kidding, haha.
