Titleist 670 vs 695MB

Dear Titleist expert... cannot decide these two
Hi,

I was wondering if any of you Titleist specialists would be willing to help me on this. After having had Mizuno 32s and 60s (and 30s previously), I've become a little allergic to the shape of cut muscle. Yes, just the shape. I've loved the performance. I truly wish MP33s were still available from Mizuno custom dept. ... Anyway, I am thinking of switching to some Titleist irons. I haven't been able to make a decision between 670s and 695s (... assuming 690s are no longer available from Titleist custom dept). I like 670s a lot better simply because they look very clean and so simple, but there seem to be some specific factors to be considered (i.e., heel biased sweet spot, lesser off-set, and higher bounce angle in 670s). Unfortunately, I have no access to 670s to test in my home town. I do have some steeper swing, but I don't know how steep the angle of attack is supposed to be to be able to play 670s. It would be very helpful if any of you could describe the differences in playing characteristics between 670s and 695s. Thank you for your help.

If you liked the MP33s then you will like the 695s better than the 670s. The 670s are VERY different from MP33s. 670s are very compact heads with a pretty good amount of bounce. The will also hit the ball much lower than 33s or 695s. 695s are much more similar to 33s in appearance and playing characteristics. However, if you like a compact head, lower ball flight, a lot of bounce then the 670s are for you. The main difference is forgiveness is less in the 670s and the ball flight is lower.

The 670s aren't available anymore; however, the 660s are designed to have similar playing characteristics as the 670s (They even look the same side by side). The 695s, from my experience, play closer to the 680s than the 690s. Both irons are going to have a flatter flight than the MP33s, which I found to fly high and floaty. If you take an aggressive swing and take a deeper divot, take a look at the 660s. They have a wider sole and more bounce. If you take shallow divots, the 660s or 670s maybe bounce a bit too much.

The biggest difference between the 660/670 and the 695 is that the 660/670 sole is designed to not dig for those players who take aggresive swings with deep divots. The shape is more boxy as well and flatten the flight of the ball. The 660s have the added feature of flighted heads for low launch short irons and higher launch long irons, yet still fly with a flatter and boring traj. The 695 has a narrow sole and is designed for more workability. The weight was moved to bring the sweet spot tmore towards the center for more consistent launch and traj. The traj for the 695MB is mid/high with excellent workability.

I personally think that the 695MBs are the best since the 681.

The best possible advice I could give you is to look for irons you like the look, feel and traj, and get fit for the one you like the best.

I believe youre a little mixed up with that statement. The 660's are in no way similar to the 670's. In reality, the 660's will be the most similar to the mp33's. The 670's are a true blade, while the 660's are a new-age forgiving blade, again, much along the lines of the mp33's. If you want a comparision to the 670's, look at the mp37's.
