Callaway Tour IX

Not as low spin as I remember?

I remember these balls being very low spin so I bought some mint condition used balls from lostgolfballs and they don't seem as long and as low spin as before. They also seem to be "stickier" to the touch. Anyone experience differences between new balls and the used ones?

I bought a 100 ball bucket of the iX from LGB last fall. I did notice that some of the balls in my bucket didn't fly anywhere near as far as some brand new ones. (like 15-20 yards off the driver) and felt different...almost like hitting a heavy ball. However it was a few select balls and not the majority. I only play new balls for tourneys/money games, and practice with LGB stuff.

I chalked it up to be the fact that they were probably water-balls when LGB got them. FWIW, I still have no problem buying from LGB for a practice round.


Love the iX...then I started playing some newer balls and noticed that they performed much better overall for my game.

Yeah I also bought TP Reds with LDP and those are better all around than the Tour IXs (both LGB balls) and yes the new IXs that I played last year were brand new. Pretty sure a high percentage of used balls are water balls and maybe some get affected by the water more than others. Definitely a big difference in length from the new ones. Last year I was blown away by the distance of the IX. These are mediocre at best. Good thing I only bought 2 dozen.

I purchased a dozen of the Callaway i(z); distance/spin is fine however I really can't get a feel for them off my putter (SC pro platinum). I would definitely suggest buying a sleeve before making a large purchase.

I play both the tour iz and the tour ix balls and I buy them from knetgolf.com and I have not noticed any major distance loss with these balls.

old iz is very hard feeling off a cameron. I am really looking forward to the new iZ .

I have been transitioning from the iX to the Z-Star because I couldn't find any more iXs. I bought two 50 ball buckets of LGB's mint balls and sent them back - in one bucket 32 of them had missing paint. Their idea of "mint" and my idea aren't in the same zip code. And I had actually purchased used balls from Knet once before, their version of mint, and I think only one ball out of 24 wasn't mint.

Anyway, I'm actually having trouble getting putts to the hole with the Z Star. The iX had much more of a click to it and seemed to go farther given the same putting stroke.
