May I ask the GolfWrx Massive what the back story is on this guy? As usual, Reilly did little to shed light on any particular facts about the guy.

Really a great guy. Originally from Washington, played at UNLV for four years (during the Ryan Moore era), had a pretty solid career, was always in the Top 3 for the Rebels. He's about as laid back as it gets, but practices hard and really works on his game. He played a lot of mini tours (played Canadian Tour for a couple of years) since he graduated and went to Q-School last year and played great all three stages to earn his Tour card. Had a bit of a struggle this year, before Memphis only cashed in two events (both opposite fields, Mexico and Puerto Rico) and got through the U.S. Open Qualifying outside of Memphis. All in Vegas are hoping he can start to get on a roll to keep his card, he's going to need to played well in the Fall Series and could be a great darkhorse for the Justin Timberlake at TPC Summerlin in October.

He is the Rod Beck of golf or maybe just a long lost younger brother of beck. Oh and he really enjoys giving tiger a hard time on twitter

This guy seems hilarious. I hope he plays well because the tour can always use some comedic relief.

I walked nines holes with Andres when he played a practice round with Jason Gore at the Nationwide U of Md tournament. Great guy, hilarious & a really solid player. Hope he cashes some big checks so he stays around.

His personal logo (which he has on his 59 belt buckle) is one of the best in the business. If he gets it going that logo will go viral.

The pictures from the US Open (think it is the Tuesday pictures) have some pictures of Gonzo on the range and a good picture of his belt buckle. The buckle looks just like him - pretty cool.

I believe his caddy actually drew that logo up for him, that's why I heard anyway...He needs a few birdies today, he's +5 through 11..

That is correct. His caddy also sports a 59 belt buckle.

Missed the cut at Q School second stage over the weekend by 5 shots. Looks like he will be without a place to play next year. Too bad, seemed like he had a lot of personality that could take him pretty far with endorsements if he ever played well enough. I wonder what guys like him do next season? Just hit the Monday qualifier circuit on Nationwide and PGA Tour?

I played with him a few years ago at US Open qualifying. Neither of us got through, but I had a good time playing with him. Nice guy. Hope he gets back out there.

You get some kind of status on the Nationwide Tour if you were recently exempt on the PGA Tour -- I think those players come right behind the first 50 who miss out on PGA Qschool and 25-50 or 25-60 on the previous year's Nwide money list. So he should be able to make a pretty full schedule out there if he wanted to.

If you finish 126-150 on PGA Tour you are Fully Exempt Nationwide; 151-200 are Conditional Membership Nationwide; If you finish outside of 200 on the PGA Tour you have no status on the PGA Tour or Nationwide Tour.
