Can anyone give me 3 shaft models...

for under $100 bucks, easy to moderate tempo?
Hopefully finances will finally be in place to reload the bag... with this in mind, I'm paying as close attention as possible to possible shaft models to fit my swing... I need to go over the exact numbers (ss and tempo) with my instructor, but here are some leading candidates for me to play with before I settle on a choice... (BTW, I use an old school Taylor Made Burner driver with S300 and hit it just fine, thanks ;) )

(I'd still consider myself a high handicapper) but each time I play, I add more and more pars and legitimate shots at birdie... I also played a course out in Boxford, MA, starting on the 10th, ending on the 480-white tees- par five ninth... hit driver four iron to reach in two, made the come-backer for birdie :idhitit: ) blow up holes are still my major nemesis... overall quality of swing and contact is MUCH MUCH improved since taking up golf seriously in April...

If the shafts are offered as stock options, that would be a plus, but dialing them in is more important that saving a few bucks and not having what works best for me...

Drivers:

Taylor Made R5 Type N, R7 Quad, 425

Ping G5

Cleveland Launcher 460 Comp

Fairways: Taylor Made V Steel

Cleveland Launcher Steel

Hybrids: Nickent, Cleveland Halo, Cobra?

Irons: Taylor Made LT2, Ping I5, Mizzy MP60 (maybe, workability is NOT a huge priority)

Wedges: TBD based on full-on fitting and short game lessons/analysis

You should be able to find some decent no charge upgrade shafts in those drivers, especially if you are looking in used products. Three shafts I'd recommend based on the info given:

graphite design YS 6

grafalloy prolaunch 65

aldila nvs

All are higher launching and relatively easy to load, should suit the easy to moderate tempo swing you were trying to fit.

STG

FliHi

243 4-PW

T22 56, 60

Phantom X 12.5

Thank you very much, Tickyboy, I'll do some more research on those shafts... Oddly enough, I like a little bit heavier feeling club, probably the result of swinging the old school TM driver with steel shaft... I found a website with most shaft manufacturer's products, so I'll see if I can get them in heavier weights...

Oddly enough, when I really go after a ball, it doesn't feel like I'm lashing at it too much... definately feels like more of a smooth move...

UST's V2 seems to have gotten almost all the recent press for low-priced, high-performance shafts. I've got one that's going into my Hibore shortly. However! Accuflex has also made a name for itself marketing the same demographic of high-performing and even lower-priced shafts. Drop Jody a PM and he will help you decide what works for you. I've got Accuflex's Acculaunch 80X in my 3 wood and couldn't be happier.

Also, let me add that if you're still experiencing blow up holes the RAC LT's or the 60's are NOT clubs you want to have in your bag. The recent trend is to go with more forgiving clubs. THERE IS GOOD REASON FOR THIS!!! If you're looking taylormade go RAC OS2, but other than that I can't even stress enough the importance of playing an iron that is forgiving enough for you. Here are a few to try-

Cobra FP

Taylormade RAC OS2

Cleveland CG4

Callaway X-18

Titleist 775.CB

Ping G5

Take your pick from that lot and I guarantee you will shoot 4-5 strokes better a round then you would with 60's or the LT's. The forgiveness of an iron is often the difference between putting and chipping, or even putting and pitching.

Just picked up a 15 and 19 degree Adams A2Ts tour prototype hybrids from friend and have not been able to hit them. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these clubs because i am not sure if i want to keep them or sell them. The shaft is an AccuFlex Icon HL, which i know nothing about. This is the first time i have ever had a tour club. The bottom of the club says Adams Idea Hybrid Tour Prototype. Sorry no pics. Thanks for the help.

Driver Shaft - Evolution Lite, AccuLAUNCH 50

Fairway Wood- With help needed (AccuLAUNCH 60)

Hybrid- AccuLAUNCH Hybrid

Irons- (If you wanna go graphite we offer a modest priced performer called the Tour Elite)

Wedges- I Like Heavy Shafts for these (stay tuned for 2007 product line up)

Hope this helps, I can dial in better the fitting options if you need, I just wanted to suggest a few shafts that would be beneficial.
