Right now I'm probably close to a 10 handicap. Haven't been serious about golf in years. Literally last week got back into it. Played 3 times since last August. 2 weeks from now I should be down to around a 6 and maybe 2 months down to like a 2. Grew up playing AJGA and played in college where I was a +3. Anyway. I play 962Bs with old school standard lofts.

Penta TP
Driver - 280-290ish (44.5") I live in Florida so take it for what it's worth. Played in IL a couple of weeks ago and played with a buddy's driver, forgot my golf shoes so I played barefoot, and was hitting his driver (HiBore XL Tour with HTD shaft in S) around 290-300. Best driving day of my life. LOL!
3 Wood - 260 (42.5")
18° Hybrid - 240 (41.5" I think)
3 - 220
4 - 205
5 - 190
6 - 180
7 - 170
8 - 160
9 - 145
PW - 135
53° - 120
60° - 100

I'm a legit 6'1" ;) and play my irons STD/STD as I have fairly long arms (36" shirt length).

I am Enjoying the posts. My main purpose was to see the difference in handicaps and distances they hit clubs. I am seeing for the most part a lot of the distances are very close to the same.

I think for the most part you are going to see that... the difference betwee a low single digit and guy that carries a 10-12 handicap is in consistancy, dispersion and short game.

Distances are going to level out for the most part - especially up through the mid irons with some guys hitting the driver, three wood and long irons further.

Don't get to excited now, I know accuracy is way more important then hitting a 9 iron 200 yards in the rough, but just for fun post your yardages. Be honest this isn't a macho contest but I hear so many times on this site how many member here carry distances as long as pros.

Of course these may very 10 yards or so depending on weather and how hard I swing. I can squeeze 10 more yards out of all the irons if I swing harder. Most of the time I swing good and solid for accuracy.

My iron specs and yardages are almost identical to yours. However I am 30 yards shorter off the tee...
Weird because my specs are almost identical to the above as well, except the driver... I'm 30 yards shorter. Either he's off on his driver, or I swing mine like crap.
no you are right that's my mess up, a lot of time I swing in the 110 range, I can usually carry 260 or so and roll out farther. Though I have put several over 300 this year total.

I enjoy reading these post, mostly because I play at TPC Harding Park in SF. TPC HP is AT sea level, with heavy air and most of the time it's in the upper 50's, low 60's. It's hilarious to see guys that come from all over the place eat some "humble pie" when they don't drive the ball 285 off the tee (or hit "3 wood" 280 all day") because of the conditions. Just totally cracks me up and I'm just laughing inside.

"Distance" for the sake of distance is over-rated. "Distance control" is where it's at.

Cheers y'all!

First of all, I'm 14, and have about 4 months of play under my belt, so consider that these numbers are getting higher ect.

Driver. 245-270
5 wood- 200-225
3 hybrid 21' 195-210
4 iron, 170-185 if struck well.
5 iron, 160-170
6 iron, 150-165
7 iron, 145-155
8 iron, 130-145
9 iron, 115-125
PW, 100-115
58' wedge 50-75

I play blades, so I'm inconsistant with my long irons, and I can hit the short ones better but I'm definitely not a long baller yet, but I'm working, I play DGS300's in my irons, and stiff in my Callaway hybrid, I have regular in my driver and 5wood, but I want the driver at tipped stiff or X-stiff,and the 5 wood at stiff.

100% agree, I find myself throttling back for accuracy. I can't hit the long ones cosistently enough to do it all the time. I would rather give up 20 30 yards and be in the fairway instead of hitting out of the rough.

I often wonder how many guys would post their numbers if they had a GPS like mine, OnPar Touchscreen, that actually measures the distance for each club and averages it for you? I only question this because I am a self professed short hitter and notice my iron numbers similar to others but the driver? Not even close. Also, proportionately, there are way more people playing to 0 - 3 Hdcp here than I have ever seen on the course or when I was worked in a golf store for 4 years. Just some food for thought.

Here are some of mine:

I can honestly say I really dont know how far I hit my irons. I really pick the club based on the conditions and like to choke up on clubs and swing for a smooth lowball than playing to a yardage. I guess I am more of a feel player but I will give it a stab. All my clubs are standard lofts from callway protos.

Driver 290-315 very sporadic with this club, hit one 370 on Saturday with no wind and flat ground...also snap hooked at least 5 of them probably 260ish

High ball hitter so wind affects my swing tremendously. Flushed an 8 iron 100 yards with a 30 mile an hour wind in my face. Also hit a pw to 3 feet on a 174 yard hole.
ss averages 105 have gotten to 115 stepping on it big time. Hard swing is usually 112.
I know I have a big gap between 5 and 6 iron, I don't know why, but i rather my gap there than in other places. I think it shows a swing flaw for me.
