Help with my swing

crossing the line/closed club face

I have had a problem crossing the line at the top and having my club face really shut. So I fight a hook. Was hoping what you guys think I can do to improve this?

Your not really coming across the line too bad. Most instructors would not even really have you work on that for as little as you go to the right. From what it looks like, your crossing the line just because you are rotating well. But your club face is dead shut, that is where your getting your hook from. Also it seems like your a little late with your hips, work on your timing and dont let your hands get so far out in front of you.

Anyone else got any thought? Low handicap with such a closed face, would love to correct this and make the game easier and not all about timing

I too have a really closed clubface at the top. To combat this I really have to clear my hips out of the way which allows me to keep the club square coming through. I've tried weaker grips and it just doesn't work for me. Timing is everything when you have a closed clubface like that...(see Dustin Johnson, his clubface points straight to the sky at the top of his swing) You can try to shorten your swing just a hair which will possibly prevent you from rotating the face shut so much on the backswing. Stand further away from the ball and you will not hook it like your doing. Guranteed.
