Watching alot of DFW lately. I'd love your input. - vid

Hey guys I have been watching alot of videos on youtube lately. It started with Sevam, then shawn clement, and now im watching alot of DFW1500. I am currently striking the ball the purest I have ever hit it although they arent consistantly the straightest. I am having slight problems with my plane i think. Im open to all suggestion in my swing and welcome any criticism. Chris

Could probably stand to see the club working down the line more to start the backswing. You're sucking the hands in a bit too much, which gets you underplane.

I agree with you preppy. Thing is I was actually working on a more one piece move takeway although I know it doesnt look it. I was actually more flat and layd off a week ago. In this video I posted I feel like im really steep even though clearly im not.

set up an alignment stick down your ball to target line and make your one piece backswing with the heal of the club continuing to point at that line until you begin setting your wrist. Video of one of my students doing this drill. this actually comes straight from a school Dan and I did together last weekend

Thanks Fort worth pro that is a great video. Here is a shot on the range tonight. It is getting slightly better although to me it feels like a huge difference. Im pretty much trying to have my core start the backswing now and have the feeling of passive hands until the club is parralel to the ground on the backswing. That sound about right?

Already much better. Work that in slow motion for a few days and you will see a big improvement. Definitely on the right track.

No its not. It was a bit flat before when he was getting underplane. Now it is just low, different from flat. It looks good and I would not mess with it. If you were slinging way out to the right and chasing down the line, that would be different. Your release is nice. Leave everything alone. Follow Fort's advice and keep doing what you were doing.

though dan always talks about shoulder plane and that looks under still. and if you pause at 12 seconds his right hand does not seem to be supporting the club very well, still the result looks pretty good

It's still flat. Check backswing at 0.12 on the last video. That's not a correct position.

I do think that I have a bit too much left forearm rotation on the backswing and causes my left hand to get flat. I think this is the main cause of the flatness going back. Im wondering however since my right shoulder hangs at least an inch or so lower then my left when im standing upright . Add the gripping of the club and it is another few inches lower then my left shoulder. Do you think this could attribute to the flatness of my swing?

if you don't get in the proper setup angles at address then yes you will get too flat with the arms going back. the right hip needs to be the same distance below your left hip that your right shoulder is below your left shoulder. watch a few of dan's videos on setup and try to put that in as well.

Yes sir. That's exactly whay I see.
Also, you make a nice one block take away pre swing, but at the swing you change it.

cj, your flatness is dictated more by your right arm than it is your left arm. Your upper right arm stays very close to the body which is why your left arm is low. I think there was a pretty good player named Ben who had a similar problem. I wouldn't worry about it unless ball flight dictated it. You have a great action through the ball.

I was doing some wide to wide drills(first vid) before the full swings and it was really helping me know when I was in or out sequence. I noticed Mr. Dan lurking and I was anxiously waiting hoping for a response lol. He is probably swamped with teaching students i imagine. I plan to do an internet lesson very soon. Or at least I hope too if there is time in the schedule.
