Lower spin & more stable than UST V2 X76

I have been doing a lot of searching and it is only confusing me more. Presently have a UST V2 X76 @ 44.5" in my driver. Spin is 3310 with 267 carry average which I would like to drop to 2700 - 2900. Consistency and less spread is my main focus.

I think this is a really good example of why a good fitter is so important - your carry yardage certainly isn't bad, your spin is not off the planet at all and you can't just "go stiffer" because that's already a fairly stout shaft.

You probably need more than just suggestions, but if you like the V2 I whole heartedly suggest the Axiv Tour Green

[size="3"]+1. A fitting is always key. If it’s not an option, I’ll second the Axiv Green. If you want a counter-balanced shaft, the Axiv Red is basically the same thing as the Green, but will come out a few swing weight points lighter.

I’ve found that the V2 Tour Flight spins a little less than the standard V2. The x flex weighs slightly less than your 76g (V2 TF is 71) but I’ve had no issues with dispersion and control.

Thanks for the input. I did speak with the fitter when I had the Trackman session. He wanted to tip my present shaft 1.5 inches, unfortunately I have it cut down to 44.5 so it would then be far too short. I like the feel of this shaft though keeping the head in line with the shaft on the down swing has always been a struggle for me. He also suggested a Whiteboard as well which I am considering. The V2 & Avix Green are considerably less expensive than the Whiteboard. The Rombax is a third shaft that I am considering.

I have been speaking with a fitter from this board about changing my iron shafts, I am just waiting for him to get back home to respond to a few emails. Looks like he will be getting a little more work than just the irons. I wanted to see what others suggestions were for shafts while waiting for his replies.

Consider using a ball that reduces your driver spin by a couple hundred rpm's. Its by far the cheaper option compared to a new shaft.

Good suggestion. I have tried a lower spinning ball, the problem is that it also affects the spin with the irons. I recently switched to the ProV1 X to drop spin off my new irons. The driver is the only club that has too much spin presently. 3W and all the rest are perfect.
