I'm gonna get blasted I'm sure but, everybody is doing it. First, his wholesale on putters is not $300. So he's making we'll say $150 when he sells a putter to a vendor. He still has to pay all his employees, operating costs, equipment and tour players. Its the same thing for every company trying to make money. TaylorMade charges $400 for a driver with what maybe $20 in actual cost. Don't forget marketing, R&D, tour staff, employees all this stuff adds up. The $3,000 markup is not necessary that I agree with but $300...yes it is necessary. The $3,000 putters aren't for your average golfer, they are for collectors.

Ha! I swear I didn't see that article just speculation from working in the business. I know how hard it is to survive in the golf biz right now and that's why I am fired up by a lot of threads here. Not saying $3,000 are not over the top but there's a reason for them being that high as I am well aware that you know. But $300 for a milled putter is not THAT much profit. My numbers were just pure guesses, damn did a double take on the $400 driver and hit $20 on the head...LOL.

And with Left Hander Wally Uihlein being CEO of Titleist (and still his boss) he is not fulfilling his promise he gave earlier this year on his webcam interview...or maybe he is, and charging $$$$ for them.

i'd like to see a nice bullseye putter come back. the american classic was cool, but the weighting and head shape was different for each length. wtf is up with that? also, scotty makes great putters, but he does nothing original. give us some cool designs or have some interesting tech story. scotty cameron's slogan should be "i make overpriced copies anser putters!"
