Range session today - working through the bag

Recommended Posts

13 swings in under 2 minutes (took out filler between shots)
I've been working hard on my balance and reducing my forward hip slide at my transition. I feel like my swing is now in a good place - these shots were all very solid, and I didn't even have to cut any shots out!

My miss when I do let my hips slide too much is a block or block / slice with the driver. Another "flaw" I have is I take the club away a bit to the outside and have a small loop in my transition. This used to be worse. If I take the club away more inside, I feel like I get stuck. This isn't something I want to mess with any more though.

I hope you all like the video:

In order to check your setup angles, the way that you load and the lateral movements in your swing ,please post a front video.

Your swing is characterized by an outside takeaway, leading to a too upright positon at the top.On the downswing, you start the clubdown above plane and have a downswing that is looks like you pushing off of your right foot..You can see that you are pushing off of your right foot by the fact that your right heel comes off the ground by a considerable amount before impact. This pushing off of your right foot leads to a pivot stall, loss of posture and manipulation by the hands( flip) at impact .The all important rotation in your swing takes place after impact and show up via your left foot towards the target

Some pros do have an outside takeaway and are too steep at the top ,but they compensate in transition..It would be better for you to try to take the club back on plane to avoid having to compensate later in your swing. To do this place a small nerf ball deep inside your left armpit at setup .Do not drop the nerf ball going back.

Your action of pushing off of your right foot is leading to nothing but problems.Instead try to really pressure your LEFT HEEL in transition. This is a combo move combining both the first lateral move to establish your left pivot point over your left heel/ankle and then the subsequent rotation around this left pivot point.

drills
Martin Chucks"golf pro impact drill".for now just the 9-3 version
Place a wet sponge underneath your left heel .Squeeze the water out of the sponge in transition

This pushing off the right foot issue is interesting because I feel that is exactly what I do.

This.....
This pushing off of your right foot leads to a pivot stall, loss of posture and manipulation by the hands( flip) at impact
is what I feel are most of my swing issues.

How come I have never heard pushing off the right food is bad in golf? It is hard for me to understand how I begin the downswing without pushing off the right foot.

It's tough for me to tone down also because it is so ingrained from me playing tennis my whole life. You always push off the back foot in tennis, and that is how my body naturally wants to hit a golf ball also.

I've been able to improve it by having the feeling of my weight transfer going more vertical downward instead of horizontal forward. It keeps my body behind the ball better and stops the block to the right miss.
