Backwoods bastxxx pre turkey today and then had my La Cumbre Fievre de Abricot apricot saison with dinner/dessert. Not the biggest saison fan, they are very hit or miss for me, but this one was rad! Just the right amount of tartness to cut through all the yummy goodness of rich foods. I'm gonna take a nap now.

Ended up with 5 bottles of Bourbon County Stout. Only 1 at first place, after they told me no limit or reserves...when they had a 1 bottle limit and 3 cases reserved! Effers. Left pissed, drove to wine store on a whim, and got 4 bottles at actual suggested price, not the 50% markup from the first place.

Bastage.

I couldn't resist and cracked open 1 for a "small" drink after lunch. Very impressive. It is much more refined, smoother than Backwoods. Almost like a dark, malty bourbon and less of a bourbon stout. However, given the price difference I think that's about right.

Also, as strong as it is, the BCBS is a very pleasant drink. Definitely could drink this all day everyday.

Few places by me did the bcbs releases but people were already waiting in line on wed evening, so I didn't look for it based on personal principle alone. I just think it's stupid. Craft beer for me when I got into it was kinda punk rock and and I dig the underground vibe it has(had?) but waiting in line for 2 days to buy beer is absurd. No thanks!

Yeah I was at a local Harris Teeter and they told me they'd have some today, so I came back in when they said to and picked up the bottles. Camping out is kinda nuts.

Went back to that liquor store in Twain Harte bought 2 more bcbs from him. Fore Life texting me what a cluster PHX figured why let it go to waste up here. Plus it sounds like the PHX retailers were marking up prices vs the $10 retail i paid. Hopefully my guy was able to save some bcbbw when i get back.

Parents are headed to Santa Rosa next week hopefully they can snag a sixer of Pliny to bring back. Since they're going to have lunch there.

Rhinegeist is my favorite. Madtree is good too. Braxton is in Covington so you won't have to go far. Lots of choices in the Cincinnati area.

I thought the coffee was starting to fade quickly when i had one for thanksgiving. Not necessarily a bad thing but if you like a coffee bomb it was better fresh. I have one more 2014 coffee left I'll prob crack it sooner rather than later.

Interesting, mine didn't last long last year but I know I loved it. Will probably have them both around the holidays. Been hoarding way to much lately.
