Golf Pride Z-Grip Cord?

I wad browsing a catalog from Golfworks and there is a new grip from Golf Pride called the Z-Grip Cord. It is advertised as golf prides stiffest and firmest grip available. Anyone have any info on these? I liked my set of tour velvet bct cords but how do these compare?

I actually just picked a couple up, they feel really good. Can definitely tell they will play pretty firm. I don't have any experience actually using them yet, and likely won't for a while as I'm waiting until I get new wedges to install them. But, I must say they seem pretty promising to me.

Does it have the BCT cord?

Put them on my wedges and love them going to be putting them on all my clubs little firmer than the BCT cords but to me I feel the cord more

Yeah, my clubmaker has a couple of them, I am waiting for him to get more so a can pick up a couple and try on my wedges. They are definitely firmer and a have a little more cord than the BCT. I can tell that I will like these a lot better than the BCT which are crap IMO being a cord traditionalist. Right now I am using the crossline cord which is much more aggressive than anything golf pride makes right now, I guess I will see how the Z-grip compares soon.

I bought them and just regripped my clubs and love them. They aren't bct cord, much firmer and I'm hoping they last longer. They are firm with tons of grip, to me they feel like an upgraded version of the old pre-bct tour velvet cords.

I love em, I could do without the white butt ends cause they get dirty. But other than that and the price being kind of high, they are awesome.

how much firmer is this grip than the old tour velet cord, i like hard cord but don't want a super hard grip.

After playing Lamkin Crosslines for 4 years, I switched to these to give them a go. I absolutely love them. They are extremely firm and abrasive.

The only thing I would recommend is getting a cheap WeatherSof glove for practicing, and your usual glove for gaming.

I had a StaySof glove - it lasted me roughly 300 balls and one round. Destroyed my thumb. Rest of the glove is in mint condition.

I just put one on an iron as a demo to see how I like them.

Background on my preferences: I've played GP cord grips for years and have major calluses on my hands. I love a new cord grip that bites into my hands and almost hurts. I want the grip to lock onto my skin. The current GP Tour Velvet cord grips require a bit of sand paper to really bring out the cord to make them perfect.

At first touch you can tell immediately that the Z-grip bites more and has more texture than the TV cord grip. After the first session it actually ripped open a callus - they REALLY bite! They are noticeably more grippy. They look good, but my only concern is the butt end is white and it gets dirty fast from the bottom of the bag. Yesterday I took my irons in to have them bent and the two guys behind the counter immediately asked about the iron with the Z-Grip. One comment was, "I don't even need to use a glove." The firmness seems identical to the standard cord, but the bite factor is definitely much more.

I think for now I'll stick with my traditional TV cords that have a little sanding done to them. I would also recommend the Lamkin cord grips. They are cheaper and the cord sticks out much more without sanding. It's a tough choice because as discussed in other threads the GP Tour Velvets cords seem to be getting lesser in quality, but with some sand paper they can last a long time and made to feel great.

I was interested in trying these out so I just regripped a sandwedge with the Z-Cord. Like others have said it is super firm but to me I really don't super feel the cord. It is really grippy which I like especially on my wedge shots because I rarely use a glove when I use my wedges because I like the feel better without for these shots and the extra grip is really nice. The only negative so far is the overall taper of the grip. I'm used to playing Ping ID-8 standard grips and this grip feels considerably smaller to me especially on my right hand but I'm pretty sure I can fix that the next go around with a piece of buildup tape under the right hand. Overall really cool grip just splittin hairs at the end.

good grip they instill confidence ,nothing like knowing your playing with top tier equipment from club to grip it alleviates all doubt !!

Best grips I have used in a long time. Have them on every club in the bag. The rubber compound feels soft to me and when combined with the Z cut grooves and the cord....man, these grips have some serious bite. Not real sure I can compare them the anything else I have tried. They feel and bite much better than the Lamkin and the old tour velvet cords but they don't shread my hands or feel hard like the old victory green or tour wrap cords. I have been playing them since last summer and they still feel as good as they did when I pit them on. Much better life already than the multi compounds.

I always said I would quit golf when the Tour Wrap Full Cord was discontinued. That day is here. Rather than quit, I decided to try the Z Cord, and the results so far are very encouraging. I roughed them up a little like I always did with the old ones and they are working out well.

I played yesterday in the humidity and rain and was very impressed.

I have them on all my clubs. . .Got them at the end of last summer. They are a great summer grip. Rough and really grippy in hot weather. Cold weather is a little different. I'd almost prefer a softer grip in the winter. In colder temps they are like sandpaper on the hands. That said, I haven't switched any off my clubs and people that grip them tend to love them.

I just got one on a driver shaft and will give it a go.

Have played Multicompounds for the last several years.

I play without a glove and play in a dry climate (and don't have an issue with sweaty hands).

I always found full cord grips very hard, but these feel much softer and quite tacky.

I played these grips all of last year and have since switched back to the New Decades. The zcord was phenomenal in the rain and humidity, but day in day out, was just a little firm for my taste. Great grip though, not rock hard but still have a good texture.

Yes they are a firm grip but I like the feel and size of these grips
I use one layer of tape they just fit me perfectly
A slightly undersized grip for sure but phenomal grip and durability
Never a fan of multi compound grips
Well worth the extra euros
