Saw both yesterday and got to set up to them, these were the same exact clubs as in last weeks pics...The D2 is as everyone has said, more traditional. From the sole, I didn't think I would like the D1, but after setting up to it, it wasn't *that* bad. I would have to hit a few of course, but I liked it more than I thought I would. It is tough to explain why. I setup to DLIII's and Wetterich's. They both seemed pretty light, in comparison to other drivers as of late, but again, would have to swing to really tell. Right after I looked at them, they wiped off all the player info.

Couple of comments:

 

- They must be high launch since only O'Meara and Faxon have lofts as much as 9.5*.

- I like the way they both look, kind of modern compared to ultra-conservative.

- I think Titleist has realized their conservative approach has them behind technically and they

cannot keep a model in the market for two years anymore.

Wait a second here??? Where are all of the Traditional guys out here? Where is all of the outrage? I would have figured that you guys would have gone NUTS over this design. TITLEIST with a NON TRADITIONAL DRIVER???

IT is unbelievable that there was so much outrage over a square driver and barely a Peep about this Triangle shaped (MOI) driver...Maybe MOI is the next frontier in Drivers.

They need to come out as soon as possible, I am still hittlng the 983k and have been putting off buying a new driver until some of these new models especially the 907 come out. I have updated everything in the bag this year except for the driver.

Can't say that I like the looks based upon the pictures taken, but hey I am sure that I will give it a try. Kind of strange coming from the compnay who has nothing but the "pear" shaped driver heads.

I generally really like Titleist equipment but I haven't seen a driver from them that I liked since the 975D. The 983s weren't ugly but I couldn't hit them for a darn :)

 

While not as ugly as the SUMO or Callaway (can't remember the name of it), this is not a pretty looking driver.

As usual Titleist is one step behind. The driver which don't get me wrong looks good but,

 

Nike came out with that look LAST YEAR. And had Great success with the SQ.

 

Now you have companies making the SQUARE driver.

 

Nike, TaylorMade, Callaway... How long after is Titleist going to come out with theirs.

I don't know if I'd even be able to take one of those off the rack and waggle it...

 

I'm sure I'll embrace the newest technology eventually, but for now, I'm pretty happy with what I've got.

I am liking the new Titleist driver. The company as a whole has a good feel and look to them. The players and the designs and all around feel. I could go Titleist any time.

Hey guys I was just thinking, what is Titleist going to do with the PT line?

 

I mean they just started useing it with the new fairway and hybird model, why wouldn't they put the PT on their new line of drivers coming out?

I think it's smart that they're pushing it to come out with the other square drivers, as the buzz will still be there about the new clubs. Club ho heaven!
