Great to hear. Some buddies and I were planning on playing Pebble and Spyglass in April, but it looks like Spyglass is out for that weekend, so we were thinking of doing both Half Moon Bay courses, Pasatiempo, and Bayonet/Blackhorse. I hope they are still looking this good in mid-April.

I'm with you poppyhillsguy. Spyglass is one of those courses that struck me as being almost perfectly sorted out, maybe not as visually impressive as some of its neighbors or possessing great "heroic" values but just total wall-to-wall quality golf with no real weak elements (besides possibly the fact that the most exciting holes are clustered at the beginning of the round). And the green complexes are to die for!

The ONLY reason is because I had to meet some folks for dinner at 6:30 in SF and wanted to make sure I had enough time to head up there..HMB is maybe 40 mins from SF... Plus I got a sweet deal for 80.00 including cart ....can't beat that.... I'll try for Spyglass next time I'm town when not under time constraint....

Same here. Spyglass is, in my opinion, one of the best in the penninsula. Only problem is, it's booked up the weekend we would be playing. It's funny because tee times are available for all the days around then.

OK, someone tell me more about half moon bay. Two courses? Where is it located in relation to Pebble? Sounds like it's maybe in the vicinity of Pasatiempo, drive up from Monterey and play both in a day, is that a feasable option. Is it usually fairly easy to get on, we can't book tee times ahead because of not knowing if/when we'll play Pebble. Thanks

There is the Old Course and the Ocean Course. I played the OC since it was in the mid 70s and Sunny. It's about an hour North of Pasatiempo...about 1.5 hours from Pebble. I got on pretty easily, but then again I played on the weekday...the Old Course is more tree lined and longer...but the OC is more for the experience....the views are awesome...

If 37 is young, then yes.... Let's put it this way.. I have a 16 month old son and 2 week old daughter at home in Boston. I figure if I don't do it now, I'm not going to be able to do it for A WHILE.... Can't imagine, lugging two kids, all their stuff, the wife and all her stuff and my clubs onto 1 flight...lol

Half Moon Bay remains one of my most favorite courses. I played it back in 1999, and have great memories the closing holes are just breathe taking. Anyone going to North Central California needs to make it a must play. I've played a lot of places but that ball from Half Moon Bay remains in the top 5 in my main ball display case.
