Other Tour Championship Pics

...and, some tour van info
I just got back and I'm uploading about 445 pics to the computer now. I'll scan through and send the best ones to this thread in a bit.

A couple things to note:

1) Wasn't the best setup for taking bag shots. I got there a little late, so most of the guys were already out of the locker room (just outside is the best place for pics at East Lake).

2) The putting greens are setup pretty strange there. One is pretty good to take shots from, but the other one (that most were using) was too far away from the ropes and directly into the sun.

3) I was also there for The First Tee, so I didn't get as many bag shots as I would have liked.

4) Regarding the tour vans:

I did see Rory hitting a couple with the Adams Pro Hybrid

Titleist let us (me, a friend and my first tee kid) in the van and showed the kid how they made golf clubs. D1 and D2's were everywhere!!! About 30 of them lined up. Pretty interesting looking clubs, but they didn't set up that strange from the face. One guy gave a D1 and D2 to a tech and had him put it in Wetterich's locker. The kid got a nice shirt from the van and a "best of luck and keep up the good work" from Butch Harmon, pretty cool. Now the bad news, they wouldn't let me take any pics and was actually shocked when they said "we don't like those guys" when I mentioned the site. Not trying to start anything up at all, but that's why I didn't get pics.

Taylormade van: Zinger was walking out as we were walking in and I asked about the new blades. They said we could see them, but had to leave the camera outside. Then, he turned around, went back inside and came back out and asked if we could come back later as they had an interview scheduled. Unfortunately, I had to get back to work, so I couldn't even get a peak :) I asked if anyone had them in play, and they said not today.

The Cleveland techs were running around the range with some new looking clubs. I tried my best to get pics, but I was from a distance (even with a 400 range lens).

Lol, we have a reputation now. :)

No kidding. But you know, I'd be pissed too if I was working for Titleist or other major golf companies. Seeing and reading about prototypes HALF A YEAR ahead of its release date? Haha, only golfwrx.com.

I remember when the 906F2's came out at my local retail store and I thought, "been there done that." New clubs lose their appeal once they hit retail shelves.

Can't wait for the pix phaun.

Just went through and picked out the best ones. I'm sending to gxgolfer and he'll upload them when he gets a chance.

I was impressed with the location of the trailors and the fact that most of the guys in them when they were not working on something were very friendly and would answer any question. To quote one guy, "You can be as nosey as you want as long as you don't have a camera!"

Taylor Made and Titleist by far have the nicest set-ups as far as size and look.

I completely agree! They were all very nice and very informative. It was really cool to see them put together a club and show the little first tee kid how it was done. They answered all questions we had...And yes, the only thing they were hesitant about was the camera. TM and Titleist did have the best setups. Srixon, BS were both pretty small. Cleveland was busy so didn't make it in there.

Yes, I shot them RAW and had to convert to JPEG. They are still huge files, so they will be sized down accordingly.

Srixon, BS were both pretty small.

No need for a big set up when you only pay 6 guys who play your clubs on tour....Rich on the van is the salt of the earth though...great guy.

Little fun fact...Fujikura doesnt have a tour and usually keeps their extra shafts in the Srixon van.

Yes, they have a new blade coming out. And the TM tour van straight up said, "yes we do". It was almost worth not going into work, but the interview was going to last about an hour, so couldn't stick around for that long...And, with no cameras, I would only be able to give a verbal review. Sergio was using it recently, and I was hoping he would have made the TC cut. Goosen only had the older cb's, not many TM staffers there actually.

True...funny that I like the whole BS line and the i-506 more than 90% of the TM and Titleist line.

The only way to avoid that is not bring the stuff to the tour until it is ready to launch (like ping did with their new stuff). Otherwise if the players are going to "test" it out pictures are going to appear. Close ups, long range, getty etc. etc. . I guess they could put tarps over the heads like the car companies used to do when people cared what the new model looked like.
