What'dya see going on here?

Tips, hints and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Miss is a high-right fade/slice. I tend to hit very fat on approach shots, as well. Handicap is 13.4 with this junk swing but, at one time, played to a 9. I'd love to get back there again.

couple things to work on that will invariably change a lot of other stuff in your swing for the better (so we'll leave those things for later)

your posture needs work. it's too lazy and slouched right now, weight's most likely too much on the heels. it'll be near impossible to strike the ball consistently, with any power from that position.
you gotta think of the golf swing as an athletic movement. it's a bit cliche, but think of being a defender in a basketball game....you don't stand straight up and down and slouch over with weight on your heels. you're braced, bent over, weight centered/on the balls of your feet, ready to move in any direction if the offense player makes a move. here the offensive player isn't about to make a move....you're just about to swing a golf club at 90+ mph, trying to strike this tiny little ball with a descending blow in a 1/2" x 1/2" area on a 35-45" long club, to a target 1-300 yards away. you need athleticism and and athletic position to accomplish such a thing.

the other thing to do that's easy is look at any video on this channel...
[url="http://www.youtube.com/user/terryrowles"]http://www.youtube.c...ser/terryrowles[/url] then go in front of a mirror and mimic the positions. villegas, ishikawa, mahan....all great posture. hands hanging freely directly below their shoulders (for irons), and they give themselves room there by bending over at the hips in athletic positions, with weight centered & towards the balls of their feet.

second most important thing to figure out is how to coil correctly without swaying.
the fundamentals are to tilt your spine to the right at setup, keep the left hip where it is at setup, and turn into the instep of your right foot as your hips rotate open. you'll feel like the left shoulder comes under your chin, and there's a stretch in your hip/right quad. again....left hip does not move to your right at all.

again, easy to get in front of a mirror and practice the positions without a club. and then practice more. and then with a club. etc etc until you ingrain the feelings and can do them on the range.

those two things will affect everything else, so until you get them right....it's not much use to get you thinking other things.
