I haven't played any but will tell you what I've heard...

1. Shingle Creek - My buddy played there last week in a scramble and loved it. Said it was in great shape. The one repeated complaint I have heard is that the holes are packed in pretty close.

2. North Shore - I've been wanting to play there for awhile. Best bang for your buck. It's a shortish course usually in good shape.

3. Harmony - Best course of the three far and away. Unreal conditions and superb layout. Very difficult. My roomate played in a tournament there this summer and said it's his favorite in FL.

Not on your list, but check out MetroWest if you haven't already. One of my favorite courses in FL.

North Shore is a pretty good track. It runs through a neighborhood so some of the holes are tight. The greens are big and have a lot of movement to them. I haven't played there since may simply because its further from my house, but its a fairly decent play for the dollar.

PM me if you want some other courses that are further from the resort/convention area that are good as well.

I've only played Shingle Creek and I can say that it's a really nice course. I'm not sure that I'd call the holes close together though. I played it in April of this year and it was $60 and I had the course to myself basically. The course was in really good condition as well. Played from the tips was around 7200 yards but it didn't seem to play that long for some reason. The par 3's really stood out to me as they weren't easy by any means. They were pretty long. Simp

Of those three, I've only played Shingle Creek, and have played it 4 or 5 times. First off, the holes are NOT "packed in". For anyone saying that, ditch the cart and walk next time and you'll see just how much room there is.

The course was in good condition each time I played it. The wind plays a huge role in shot selection as the course is new and the trees are not mature. Additionally, it is in a very flat area, so there are no hills to protect you from the wind.

I'd call it moderately long, not too brutal, but enough from the back tees for a single digit handicapper. The greens complexes are fair, altough there are a few that have severe slopes / tiers (#18 is a prime example).

The clubhouse and practice facility are nice, the snack hut is great, and the service is top notch for a public course. In fact, during the brutal summer months, they have people who ride around the course with cold mango wash cloths. Just when you feel like you're going to pass out from heat stroke, there's someone right there with an iced mango wash cloth. They give you a new one about every 3-4 holes. Very refreshing during the hot/humid days.

I'd recommend it. Good luck!

The overseeds should be done by now. My course, Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville, FL, completed the overseed process almost a month ago and the course is in fantastic condition. TPC of Tampa Bay did the overseed two weeks ago and were beginning to cut it down last Friday.

You should have very good course conditions in January.

I play Northshore and Grande Pines quite often. Northshore's overseed is done and well along. Last Sunday the greens were VERY quick, and as posted before, rolled true. Fairways were fast as well. Our traditional Thanksgiving morning round is scheduled for Grande Pines, so once that is under the belt, I can give you an up to date report on its condition.

With the schedule you've posted you should have alot of fun!

North shore is a good course . and a good value . My son and I have played it twice - on vacation. Once in January 05 and again in Feb 06. not far from the airport . Not far from Lake Nona. the Front and the Back each have a different feel and design.

Another awesome course , with real elevation changes, and a good value in the Orlando area is Highlands Reserve.

Only course I have played in Orlando that I really would not return to is Remington.

have fun
