I think he meant one for PRACTICE and one for play during competitive rounds so the grooves are nice and sharp...

To all those asking about getting hooked up at the tour van, I don't think that he can. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure getting hooked up with free gear would be considered getting improper benefits and risk his NCAA eligibility. I didn't play college golf, but I don't most teams have to pay for their clubs. You get a sweet discount, but still have to pay for them. YOu get your clothing and rain suits free, but I'm pretty sure you have to pay something for the clubs. WHo knows maybe he gets them for a nice discount, but I don't think he can get the true van hook-up experience without risking his eligibility. I know for hockey in college we got jerseys and shells and hockey socks for free. But we had to pay for the rest of our gear although we could get a good discount on sticks and gloves. But that was D2, not sure how it works D1 and with golf. But given the NCAA I would be shocked if he was allowed to go shopping in the tour van for free.

I liked his attitude at the US Open. Most kids his age would doubt the place he was in. He embraced it and believed in himself and that says a lot about where this kid is likely to be in the next 5-10 years. Those of you hating on him for it will never be in his shoes more than anything because you don't have the ability to think like he does.

I was impressed at his poise on and off the course. Not too many 17 year olds who are like that. Having said that, he still has a looong way to go in his career. He's only a few bad experiences from turning into a Ty Tryon. I'd like to see where he is 5+ years from now.

So much hate on this kid's story (ie, he looks like grimace, he has no swag, his attitude was wrong because he simply believed in his abilities, etc). No grown adult should have anything negative to say about this kid as he's done nothing more than play the game that we are all addicted to like nobody's business. His poise was very appropriate for the occasion. And why the Ty Tryon comparisons when Beau is going to play at the university of Texas? And to the young adults/teenagers talking crazy, get to where he's been and then say something[u].[/u]
