Cleveland Prototypes?

Wondering if anyone has seen these irons before? I bought them a few months back 2-pw with X-100 sensicore in almost new shape. I have never seen them before and consider myself a club nerd! Let me know if you have any information on the clubs. They are the sweetest feeling clubs I have ever hit. They also look like they are made of the new CMM material.

Those are sweet. Wuts it say on the hosel there? TA, TA1?? Again sweet looking set.

On the hosel it has TA1 and the initials KC on the side of the hosel. Thanks for looking.

My roomate has those same heads, but raw and the CG logo on the back is welded over. They are really heavy heads. You're right though, they feel awsome.

Tour heads offered a few years back. Mostly issued to "Cleveland Golf Tour" tour pros. If you go to the cleveland website you can find a link to that tour's homepage. Looked into it, but it was kind of expensive unless you were looking for a full-time career. Too exensive and not enought purse$$$ for the qualifier fee.

The early CG1 prototypes with the CMM material all were stamped with Tour Action.

I picked them up on Ebay for $250 shipped. I emailed the seller and he told me he picked them up at an estate sale in Bel Air, CA. He had no info and really did not know anything about Golf. I thought they looked sweet so I bought them and could not be happier. They have no offset and are are the most solid clubs I have in my collection.

I had a set similar to that with the pro logo but were raw that belonged to Frank Nobilo back in 2000. I believe they were prototypes of the retail TA1s that were issued to some tour players. I can guarantee they are not CG1 protos. Felt good but did not like the rounded toe profile compared to the more boxy retail TA1s.

Agreed, no CMM or CG# proto technology in those. Those are just some sweet blades that cleveland should have made production. Just like those true forged combo iron proto's they had in japan 5 or 6 years ago. If they want to get some money they need to ditch CMM cause it sucks, make some real forged clubs. No more form-forged crap, get back with a combo set, bring back the old gunmetal finish they had, best ever gunmetals (imho,) and lets get a 420CC Comp Tour-like driver with Weights. Oh, and some sweet grinds on the wedges. Screw these DSG wedges, I want major toe and heel relief, square grooves, milled faces. I mean come one cleveland! ;)
