ATL metro area, any recommendation?

Hello all,

 

I have been invited to play Peachtree golf club next week and am so excited.

 

Day before that, I have some time to kill and wanted to see if there's any good semi private courses around mid town or near that to get on.

 

Any suggestions?

Congrats on the the invite! I have heard it is probably THE best club in. Atlanta, tho some may argue that point.

As for semi-private, I'd look at The Manor or Echelon. Both usually in excellent condition, but as with many courses, some quirky blind holes here and there. Both in the Alpharetta area and about 40-50 min ride from mid-town. Of course there are many options available, these come to mind first.

what a treat! Ask about the guy who had a hole-in-one (#4) then a double eagle (#10) during member guest. He is a buddy of mine. If your short on time, Charlie Yates par 3 course is fun. I usually can play quick 18 in less than 2 hours. Maintained by the East Lake Staff.

Manor and Echelon, are they in good shape?

I'm biased toward Heritage Golf Links. It's about 25 min NE of midtown and quite a bit closer than Echelon or The Manor.

At least you are playing the other course before Peachtree. That way, it won't be a letdown. Try and get on AAC.

If you can make it up to Alpharetta/Duluth - St. Marlo Country club is a phenomenal course, and has an extremely cheap deal for twilight. I would highly recommend looking into it.

Echelon is another great one - Reese Jones' design too.

Echelon is good and so is Hard Labor Creek but it is a [i]sligh[/i]t drive away. Peachtree is on my list of places to play before I die. I agree with the poster above that one of the best around Atlanta.

Yes, I played Heritage earlier this year and was convinent not having to deal with too much traffic.

Yes AAC is nice but it costs too much to get on for me!

I played St. Marlo last year but the condition was ok.. is it in good condition?

I'm certain it is less than Peachtree. And if Peachtree if a freebie, then look at it as a cost for two days.

I played it late last year and thought it was in pretty good shape.

Peachtree is unreal great! But look at Bears Best, I forgot where it is but it's not too far out and it is one of my favorite course outside of the big 3 in ATL.
