Olympia Fields from the US Open tees

Played OF yesterday from the tips. First and maybe only time I'll ever get to play it, so I decided to play the ball down despite very wet conditions and lots of plugs on the ground due to aerating 4 days earlier...very muddy day. Playing partners played lift/clean/place, but I wanted to see what I'd shoot under the rules of golf. For those that have played it, what do you think a 12 handicap should shoot under those conditions?

95ish I would guess, not sure what the tips are but I'm guessing around 7400

I'd guess something in the upper 80's? I played the North course a few times when I worked for a guy who was a member out there. I was a scratch at the time and managed to sneak out one round of 77 as the best round of the bunch. I've had a few friends ask me back then why I never bother going out for the tour and this is a great example of how good the touring pros are, I play a decent round on one of their courses and I'm still getting beat by 10-12+ strokes per round. Hope you enjoyed the course, it's an amazing piece of land out there that I wish I could visit regularly.

Thanks for the responses. I shot a 94. Had one O.B. and one lost in a lateral, plus I couldn't hardly find a fairway and had 5 or 6 putts roll over the edge or lip out (one 3 putt on the round). I also carried my own bag for the first time in probably 15 years, which wasn't a great help. I guess what I'm getting at is I did not have my "A game" and shot an acceptable score given the circumstances. I'm guessing the greens would be quicker on a dry day when they're rolled and mowed, but I think that was balanced out by a very recent aeration. All in all it was a pretty sweet experience. I love playing courses with history.

On a side note, I also played Flossmoor CC in the afternoon. It is a fantastic course. Much cleaner than Olympia was and the greens were PRISTINE! I've never played greens that rolled that nice. The pro said they were at 11.5 on the stimp. I shot 89 there and played a similar round to the morning, but a few more putts fell.

14,300+ yards of beautiful golf courses. With any luck I'll get to play them again.

Olympia Fields is a tough tree lined track. I played it (North) once, from one up, and couldn't hit a straight ball off the tee, which led to a round in the 100's for me. Kudos to you for shooting in the 90's from the tips!
