Welp....the glass is empty...

At $60 for 16yr, I think it's one of the best values out there. The sherry isn't overwhelming and it has a smooth and fruity finish. Methinks I also got a hint of raisin...?

Glad to see you back here eagle!

First, yes, the JW is actually going to be a gift. It's unopened and will remain that way if it's stays in my house! I get some cheap duty-free and thought it would be a good gift for someone else.

I strongly considered the Auchentoshan but I thought it would be fun to let others decide! But I'm thoroughly enjoying cardoustie's recommendation! And he gave me the same courtesy...kind of like going to a pub with some of you guys. I get an idea what would be ordered and brought to the table!

Hahah, wow, good eyes! I have two liquor cabinets. One in the kitchen above the fridge where I keep my generics.
The other is a collection of old wine boxes (3)(not the one pictures) where I keep the good stuff. There just is not enough room in the kitchen to keep everything so it's kept in the basement...right next to my golf clubs!

i'm 2 fingers into the Jura Superstition that i started last night. it's still excellent. still tempering with a few drips of chilled water.

btw, i don't know how you guys collect scotches like this. unless it's unopened (because i'm saving it for a special occasion), i'm a one bottle at at time kinda guy.

i'm too indecisive when it comes to choosing between excellent scotch. too much thinkin takes away from my drinkin time.

Ya I just pick up a new bottle every time I'm at the liquor store...which apparently is a lot. Also I have access to many duty free shops so it's easier to buy a bottle than to resist the temptation!

fyi, since you like highland park, i've heard that the HP18 is [i]the quintessential scotch[/i] from 2 separate sources. one was trying to sell me a bottle, but the other was an off-the-cuff recommendation from a fellow scotch lover who was buying a bottle himself.

A good friend of mine just had his first baby and I have been saving it to celebrate with him. A few times now I have almost committed the deadly sin.

How was the Aberlour?
