Oklahoma City Golf Clubs

Might be taking a new job in OKC. Mid 20's. looking to join a club in the area. Anyone have any input or recommendations? Thanks!

I don't know your budget...however, my choices would be Oak Tree National, Oak Tree, and Gaillardia.

Thanks for the Recomendations. Just checked those three out. Look really nice. Most likely put of the budget. Know any other courses with a somewhat younger croud? Like to get in some games on the weekends and just do my own thing during the week.

I belong to River Oaks.
Very down to earth people and the course is fun as well.

Moderately priced and no food requirements.

The food is so good however that my family has dinner there at least once a week.

I think Quail Creek has some competitive rates and lower initiation costs. Not 100% sure though...as far as the golf goes, I've never played it but I hear it is a good course.

When I was in OKC last year, I played:

Oklahoma City G&CC
Twin Hills G&CC
Oak Tree National

And about 45 minutes north of OKC:
Oakwood CC
Karsten Creek GC

Karsten Creek GC is a brute, but not overly fun. A very corporate feel to the place.

Oak Tree National was less interesting than I thought it would be. Sure, it has a pair of excellent, thought-proving par-5s (3/16), but too many of the par-4s left me feeling flat and the all-carry par-3 over water was tiresome.

Twin Hills G&CC felt like a club in need of a bit of an upgrade. Their fantastic golf course has become constrained by trees and the greens and bunkers have lost size and definition. Photos: Shoot, thought I had them up... photos of Twin Hills and OCGCC to come!

Oklahoma City G&CC: My first choice of the facilities I saw, provided you are looking for a country club. Fantastic facilities and an immaculately maintained golf course that is going through a renovation (perhaps now completed). Can't say the reno will bring the course closer to its Maxwell roots, but it should be visually pleasing.

Man, I've been working every angle I can to get on oak tree for 5 years and haven't sniffed it yet. I'm giving up. I'll just stick to my poor guy courses. Lol

I have played at Coffee Creek and Karsten Creek for college. Karsten was a decent track.
