Impromptu Golf Vacation 1/27-1/31

I randomly had my schedule open up from 1/27 to 1/31. I live in Philadelphia and the weather is awful. I would like to fly out somewhere to play golf which leads me to three questions:

 

1. Are there any golf vacation sites that can do it at a better value than me scheduling everything and not having to call a sales rep to complete the transaction?

 

2. What part of the country would you recommend?

 

3. Are travel bags necessary for flying with your clubs? If so is there a recommended travel bag I should use?

 

Thank you for the help as I have only played in the Philly and NC areas.

1. No idea. Will be interested in what others say.

2. Central to South Florida offers best change for good weather and wide excellent course selection. Also easy and quick flight from philly and probably inexpensive flights like under $300 round trip.

3. Yes you need a travel bag. Pack towels around the top to protect the heads and get a stiff arm to protect heads & shafts from end drop. I have a Club Glove burst proof wheels 2 and it's an excellent, but Bag Boy offers decent economical bags and I have one of those also.

I found that booking the trip myself was cheaper. I picked Miami - good call on that.

I saw there was another posting about what the best travel bag was so I will bring that back up rather than have multiple similar threads. Thank you.
