Nike has announced that their newest offering in the iron department, the Nike Slingshot OSS will be available November 1st. The Slingshot OSS will feature the same “sling back” design as the original Slingshots but will have an even higher MOI and a lower, deeper center of gravity. Nike Golf is saying that these will be the most forgiving irons on the market.

The irons will be available in the same Speed Step steel shaft by True Temper or a new iDiamana graphite shaft from Mitsubishi. Both shafts have soft tip sections to get the ball high in the air.

The Slingshot OSS will also have the same wide, constant width sole to prevent digging in the turf and the “sling back” is moved even further out to increase the moment of inertia in the clubs.

I agree with Mr Domin that this is very exciting for us Nike fans. Got the SQ coming out with the new hybrid, new slingshots, shoes and now hopefully some tour standard putters! I also ordered new SV wedges so I could nearly have an all Nike bag soon.

I hit both the new Slingshot Iron and the SQ driver today.  The Iron is really aimed at the higher handicap player, due to the very wide sole and low cg.  The SQ driver is Very GOOD.  Diamana shaft as a stock option.  I hit it too high with a 9.5*, but very straight.  Look forward to hitting one with a lower loft.

Were you able to hit the Tour one or just the normal one? It would be interesting to see the differences between the two. What other shafts were avalable? Thanks.
