Scotty Cameron or Yes Golf

Too Much Money

Recommended Posts

You have to demo them i have both Callie (original) & Circa #2,(.335gm) the Circa is my gamer but it took many long practice hours to get the feel again after playing the Callie (.355gm) for 2 yrs. Opinions will vary just hit all of them which ever goes in the hole more and has the better setup is the stick for you.

Sure a Scotty might look nicer, hold its value better, turn more heads, and whatever else it might do, but the Yes putter probably rolls the ball truer and more consistently than any putter I have ever putted with. I have the Yes Callie Forged and you won't find a better roll than with this putter. I love Camerons, I've got a few of them, but the Yes performs better, imo. To each his own though.

go with the yes! tracy, cause the equation is quite simple.......

1. your 2 ball is faced balanced, the tracy is faced balanced

2. The yes is by far more cost effective than the scotty ;)

3. The feel of a Yes! is unparalled :kewlpics:

4. Please refer to facts 1 through 3 :idhitit:

Ping Isi 3W 15°

  • 1 year later...

I have always wanted a scotty, tried most of them but never got on with them, the roll you get from the yes is far superior but I would love to try a scotty with less loft, maybe 2 or 2.5 deg. Try everything you can and have an open mind, I love my Yes putters but I have tried as many as I can over the last few years and these work for me. I have the Abbie forged at the moment but I am always looking and testing anything and everything that comes out. Good luck.

I revived this thread since I was torn between the Callie and the SC Newport 2.

I was wondering why a post from over a year ago was brought back to "life".

Nothing to be torn about. It's actually a simple decision. Test them both out and go with whatever sinks more putts. Don't worry what's the current "favorite" or drool material on the golf/putter forums. That stuff won't help you in your scoring. Only you can tell what feels good and rolls well for yourself. :)

I have never had much luck with YES putters. There is something about the feel (or lack of it) when I putt with one. I do like Cameron putters, having owned 14 OTRs and Limiteds in my collection career. I only own 2 now. The putter maker I prefer currently is TP Mills. I believe the quality and attention to the craft of designing and making a tremendous putter is about as good as it gets. Also, the price of a Mills putter is as good as the quality. Personally, I would go TP Mills.

Scotty Cameron's are the most polished product on the market. As aesthetically pleasing as putters get. Will they drop more putts? Probably not! Are they the most high tech? Nope!! Are they worth the $$$? That's a negative!!! THEY SURE DO LOOK GOOD THOUGH!!!

DON'T FORGET!!!

FERRARIS BREAK DOWN & NEED REGULAR SERVICE!!!

Absolutely , completely agree with this opinion. It is becoming more apparent that Cameron's are nothing special.

I am not sure I would say that Cameron putters are nothing special. I would say that Cameron is not one of the only great quality milled putters available today, just some of the more expensive when custom options are wanted. I know several milled putter manufacturers that offer degrees of custom options for a fraction of the price Scotty Cameron offers. Also, I know of one manufacturer that has a outstanding putter studio like the Cameron Putter Studio and offers anyone the chance only a select few (and very select if you are not a decent touring pro) get with Cameron. That said, for those who collect Cameron putters, I say great. For those who are cost (and value) conscience, turn to the other manufacturers and enjoy the ride.

I echo the guys that say the choice of a putter is a very personal one. It all depends on your putting style, and what you look for in how a putter feels. I tried all kind of putters when I was shopping: Scotty, Ping, Odyssey, TM, etc. I ended up walking out with a Yes Tracy II, because it just felt 'right' to me.

If aesthetics, looking good on the course, and holding value are important to you, you'll be very happy with a Bettinardi or a Scotty. If you're looking for something to make your game better, don't worry about brand. Just take your butt to your local store, and try putters until you find what works for you.
