Out of those 2 brands I would go with the Cameron for sure. I'm not a big Yes! fan though. The Yes! putter will be cheaper though.

I was a long time collector of Scotty's but when I purchased the Yes! Marilyn it instantly became my gamer. I much prefer the mallet putters, and I couldnt find a great Scotty mallet. However, if I could putt with a heel-toe weighted putter, my Tel3 would be back in the bag.

Alas. I play this game for performance, not for equipment aesthetics.

Your comparing a Ferrari to a Fiat!!!! LOL

Thats the way I feel. I think Yes! makes a decent putter, but the Cameron is worth the money and will hold its value pretty decently also.

You're a 2 handicap and using a 2 ball. No matter what you go with, you better make sure you like the setup and it suits your swing otherwise I don't think a change in putters is a good choice.

Well, in my own opinion it's all about personal preference depending on if you're willing to make a switch to a blade putter or stay with a mallet it's all based on what you like not what other people like,

I For one will chose a cameron over a yes putter, But who knows you could be different but take this into notice heres what's different about them, A Scotty has a milled face and a yes putter has a C-groove insert overall when struck perfectly the c-groove has a nice soft wonderfull roll, Now on balls struck off center will result in a putt coming up short(Which i didn't like) Now the cameron will end up the same distance and will only be missed to the left and or right.

Also weight is a bit different within the 2 putter's i found cameron to be alittle heavyer in the mallets and and depending on the blade i found the cameron to be alittle heavyer too, Overall you're gonna absolutly love the yes putter for a couple of months and find yourself wanted to trade it in where a scotty will stay in your bag for a very long and sometimes not lose it's value that much

Scotty Cameron all the way. Nothing compares to Scotty's blend of state of the art technology with pleasing clasical asthetics in their blade line (when you go to the futuras or detours you're on your own). I like the feel of the yes! putters and the forged one looks amazing but I wont pay over $200 for anything thats not scotty.. except if its love at first putt... in the end its all up to you.. go with what feels right

Scotty Cameron's are the most polished product on the market. As aesthetically pleasing as putters get. Will they drop more putts? Probably not! Are they the most high tech? Nope!! Are they worth the $$$? That's a negative!!! THEY SURE DO LOOK GOOD THOUGH!!!

FIATS SUCK!!!

Fiats are terribly unreliable cars and even worse putters. But You are right I should buy a Cinquecento

Camerons feel better & have enough loft. Also in 15 years your cameron will be worth what you paid for it, while your yes! will be worth the price of a new cameron grip. So my vote goes for the cameron.

I have trouble believing that the original poster is serious. But will give the benefit of the doubt anyway.

If you have been playing the 2 ball for 3+ years, and it has got you down to 2, why change? You can obviously shoot good scores. Are you 3 putting more than you should and this stopping you from playing off scratch?

Is there a specific problem in your putting you are trying to fix?

It is quite a jump from a 2 ball alignment putter to a Scotty or Yes.

If, on the other hand, you are not trying to improve your putting but just want a cool putter, then get a Scotty. Or a Bettinardi. Or a TP Mills.

IMHO Camerons are a little too common to be cool, but quality-wise they are pretty much the same.

dispite my signature, i have chosen to go with the titleist/scotty. if your used to the insert of a two ball, you will love the insert on the studio stainless. i spent a full week with many putters and the scotty was unbeatable. i dont care if the scotty is OTR, its an amazing putter

6mos ago, I'd be the first one to say get a Cameron. I think putters are such personal things, that you can't ask a group of guys which one is the 'best' and go from there.

There are literally THOUSANDS of different putters out there. I can't think of one 'best' putter. For ME, it's a Cameron 009...for YOU, it may be a Ping Redwood, or a YES Tracey, or a Nike Techno...

...there is a reason they make more than one putter. Do some exploring..it'll be worth the effort.

Very well said, Mr. Doug!

I would attend a putterfitting session somewhere, and try to determine if you are a straight-straight stroke (suited to mallet putters like your 2-ball), or a gated stroke (suited to blade-style putters like Scotty Cameron Newport/Newport 2, or Ping Anser).

Then - it's a matter of demoing, demoing demoing demoing as much as you can. Ultimately you'll find the feel, style, and performance you'd like.

I'm a multiple Scotty Cameron owner, but I can't blanketly make the statement that it's the best for you. I've seen low-index players play anything under the sun with great success, so you must demo and make up your own mind.

Having said that……….if you are used to a 2-ball mallet-style putter, might I suggest demoing the Scotty Cameron DETOUR., and perhaps the Yes! Natalie, both are fine, fine putters.

You will get a variety of opinions on this one, but what it comes down to is simply this- the one that allows you to start the ball on your intended line, at an appropriate speed, gives you confidence at address, and gives you the opportunity to make the most putts w/ your ability to judge speed and line is the one you should use. The maker of said putter is irrelevant as is anyone else's opinion of the maker, design, or price the only thing that matters is the scorecard at end of round!

Got two new putters at the same time last Nov. the Yes! Emma and a Circa #3.

Decided to go with the circa #3 due to I have wanted a Cameron for a long time and I finally got my first circle T from the shop. Best putter ive ever had and fits me to the T.

The Emma looks&feels fantastic but its going to be the backup til my scotty proves otherwise. Have been leaving the Emma in the office to put around with during the day.

Try 'em both and tell us what you find out.

I love my YES! Callie. I have been toying with getting a Cameron, even found a decent Del Mar 3.5 used locally...but every time I went to pull the trigger I kept saying "Why spend the money when you're not going to put it in the bag?".

Ultimately, it comes down to what makes you confident when you stand over a putt. Like others have said, try both on a real putting green and decide from there.

On the internet, you get our opinions...on the putting green, you'll form your own.

To be honest, I've found more cool putters in the last month than I knew existed. I wouldn't limit yourself to just those two brands. Try the Ping Redwood, or the forthcoming Odyssey Black Series. I just finished testing one for a review and can't wait to tell people how great it is.

Putters are fun like that...

I hate to sound critical, but if the poster is a 2 handicap I would think he would know the value of firsthand experience. You have to demo putters. Its the only way to know what works for you.

There is a lot of great stuff out there...including, but not limited to...Cameron and Yes.

(full disclosure: I play a Yes Callie.)

Mr. Doug is right. Try as many as you can. Go to a Demo Day and try out all the putters represented.

Find the one that gets the ball in the hole the easiest for you!!!!

Jay

ps where do you live, so the Mills Co. can schedule a one day exclusive Demo Day at your home course!!!

LOL LOL

**** sorry, late friday afternoon humor, I realize that wasn't appropriate, but do try as many as you can.

thanks
