I have played all three. The Velocity for maybe 6-8 rounds a few months ago. The Hex Hot for a round and a half, more recently. And the e6 for a whole bunch of rounds since around the first of this year.

The Velocity and Hex Hot are both unpredictable in how they'll react when they get to the green. Prone to a big bounce and then running off the back (or side) of the green. The e6 is much more well behaved. It won't stop like a Pro V1 but it seems to have a more predictable amount of release and roll when it lands.

In terms of ball flight, the e6 goes higher (probably part of why it lands softer) and they all fly similar distances carry-wise. But the Hex Hot and Velocity each get a little extra roll-out on tee shots and layups. If the fairways aren't too mushy (and assuming you actually hit the fairway!) one of those may get you a club closer to the green with the extra roll on the drive.

I couldn't manage the Velocity at all around the greens. The Hex Hot was OK but I preferred the behavior of the e6, along with the higher ball flight. Our fairways are generally soft enough that getting much extra roll is a crapshoot so I chose the e6 overall.

I tried the velocity. It did not work for me.Feels very soft which is nice but was to unpredictable for me.Off the short irons it seemed hot...a little longer than say a tour ball.Off the tee it felt like a marshmallow.Gave up way to much distance with the driver almost like the ball is compressing to much.I think the ball is designed for slower swing speeds.I'm not a big hitter by any stretch either. It felt jumpy off the putter too.I think if the core were little firmer it would fit a larger range of player.

Is that the 2013 E6 you tried? I know there were changes for the E5 in 2013, where there also changes to the E6?

And this is what Greg Sabella told me yesterday on this exact topic.

Lowest spinning Callaway balls are:

@GregSabellaCG: @K_Kyriopoulos @harryarnettcg HEX Black Tour is the lowest tour ball. Diablo is lowest non tour.

2013 e6 performs well for me. High flight on all clubs, soft enough that I don't feel like I need to overswing the long irons. I think there is a slightly slick feel with the e6 yellow, wish it felt more like the e6 white but still a good ball for a 55 year old guy that hits his best drive around 250 max.

Been gaming the new E6 for the last two weeks as well and I'm impressed. I'll stay with them through spring until the greens get hard. I too noticed that the colored balls have a different texture and are not the same as the white.

The Velocity is long, straight, and I can stop it on approach shots, but that ball WILL NOT STOP on chip shots, and rockets off the putter.
[/quote] Ditto for my experience except with anything from a 7-iron on up I could not reliably stop it on a firm green.

To me the E6 is the ball to judge all others by in its category. I spin the ball plenty so I am always looking for a low spin ball that does not feel or behave like a rock. The E6 is a solid performer for me. The Callaway hot is good as is the TM superdeep but not any better than the E6. The hex chrome spins too much for me. I do not play shots to spin back 15 to 10 feet. Just is not my game.

I'll agree with most guys here. The e6 is the best of this bunch. My experience with the Velocity was it has velocity off all clubs not just the driver. Worst putting Titleist ball I've ever played. The Hex Hot is OK but no match for the e6. Bridgestone really hit on something with the e6 and the 2013 version is even better (not by much though).

The ball I'm really wanting to compare the e6 to is the new Nike One RZN. For some reason the RZN has my attention...
