My 2nd hand made putter - 90% complete

After doing my 1st putter - http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/798629-my-new-hand-made-putter/ I decided to try another, something completely different.. So i decided to go for a mallet style, center shafted, and using different materials and finishes.

The face is a copper alloy, and the rest carbon steel, with an oil blued finish. Again, its all on manual machines.

There is one more piece to make, to go on the back of the face, and form the center and sole of the club. After that, some polishing and paint filling! Think the weight once finished will be about 360g.

I'd avoid putting lie loft specs on there... Those things can change.

When you say, "Again, its all on manual machines.", what machine did you use to create that ring? The creative part is the most fun and also fun to watch.

How does the copper alloy "feel" compared to a milled or stainless putter?

Just as an FYI - don't know if you care, but per the rules, I don't think you can have screws through the face of a club.

Cameron's original samples of the Futura Phantom Mallet were deemed illegal for tournament play IIRC. Same design.

That's the thing i wasn't too keen on - the loft/lie specs written on the face, think i prefered it with more of a clean look.
The ring was turned on a lathe, then split in two.
And I didn't know about the rule saying that there could be no screws through the face of a club? Looked on the website, to look at regulations for face material and grooves etc - didn't see anything about screws?

You need to have a specified hitting area that is free of any foreign objects. Screws thru the face are not a deal breaker.

Screws have been on the face of clubs for decades, persimmon driver faces ect just not for the last few decades.

Yes screws are ok on the face of putters as long as they are out of what would be deemed the impact rea and this meets that criteria. i know because one of my models has this feature. light alloy face and carbon back to deepen the cg and move it back. Tad Moore

Been away for the last 4 days, and have been very busy at work prior to that, so haven't done anything more on the putter really. Will hopefully get it finished next week! Thanks for the comments

Sorry it's been so long but, i've eventually managed to find some time to get a little bit closer to finishing the mallet. Been very busy at work.
As far as finishing goes, the bare carbon steel piece that forms the sole, still has to be oil-blued, and the copper pieces need to be sandblasted/polished and paintfilled. But all machining is now done!
