Garmin S3 battery life

I just played 27 holes three times this week and my S3 died on hole 23-25 every time. Anyone know of a way to extend battery life or a way to recharge during a round?

 

I thought about taking the charging cord along and recharging during a lunch break but worry about it walking off while I'm in the 19th holes having a sandwich or a beer. Also thought about using a solar cell phone charger in the cart but not sure about having to be restricted to having the watch in the cart for the last 4 holes or so.

 

Anyone have any ideas? I like the S3 a lot but may not keep it if I can't come up with a good solution to the short battery life.

You could get a Mophie Juice pack and plug it in while you are at 19th...

How long is your typical round? I get 36 holes out of mine, but it only takes about 6 hours. Mine always dies on hole 36-45.

They make power bricks that you can quick charge it with. I use one when I go on long trips for my iPad. BTW, I'm about to get the S3 because I'm sick of the Skycaddie BS. Do you feel you got good value for the $350? Would you buy it again?
