Trying to tell me he bought it in the States (we're in Oz) and a pro he played with said he loved it as he had one as well, therefore making me a know it all with too much time on my hands.

The outline of the white "G" in the G5 is the obvious giveaway as this was a feature of the G2, the previous

model, when the G5 was introduced this "G" was solid filled and no longer an outline.

 

Also the rest of the script is wrong. The "Ping" isn't large enough and the "titanium" isn't curved enough and also too small.

 

The blue paintfill overuns the grooves and is far too bright than an original.

I am sorry if you thought it was genuine, but its not. I ask once again that you please change the listing to reflect this.

 

 

reply: i purchased two of these in a golf shop in Anaheim in LA when I was there. I've been using the 9.5 loft one for the past three weeks and it's fantastic, the 10.5 loft one I have no need for. I played with a pro two weeks ago who used my G5 and said it was great as he has one with a stiff shaft. I will take it in to the local golf shop to check but as far as I'm and others are concerned it's the real deal. Thanks for your concern.

If you were serious about having it checked with a local pro shop, you would suspend the auction till you had verified it.

 

 

reply: Michaels shaft was different and hence he wanted to have a hit with mine. I have since spoken with him and he's confident it's legit. I'm happy to believe him who plays off scratch, gives lessons and knows what he's talking about than some would be if he could be with too much time on his hands. If you dont like it then it's simple dont bid... Why is it every QLDer I've ever met thinks they know it all?

Too much time on my hands. Well, golf is my passion. I don't need too much time on my hands to spot that fake from one small pic. Took about 2 seconds. I'm guessing Michael is also a would be if he could be as he obviously doesn't know a fake club when he sees one. Just because he's a pro, doesn't make him smart. In fact, most of the ones I know, aren't smart enough to realise they aren't Tiger Woods and won't make enough to support themselves.

 

There are good copies and there are bad copies, yours isn't even a good copy. I'm sorry you were fooled, but that doesn't give you the right to foist it off on other unsuspecting ebayers.

See this one? Solid filled G and solid filled 5 in blue colour. Not the dodgy black filled outline like yours. No over-run on the paintfill and clearly the genuine article.

Relist as a copy and you'll not here from me again. But no, you won't do that will you? You see eBay as an opportunity to make a fast buck to the detriment of your unsuspecting buyer.

For the last time, as far as I and others are concerned which are far more educated than you the driver is authentic. As I have said before I have the same driver and it's great, no problems!

I have reported it to ebay, yet they just send the typical automated response. Maybe we're just slacker here in Oz about these things, which is disapointing. In the end, they get their fees regardless I suppose.

 

Ebay seems to be fine until you have a problem, then everything gets bogged down in so much red tape and automation, that its easier to just give up. Some things I do on principle though, this being one and this guy is earning his listing from my messages.

 

Tried to find a Ping contact through their website but no luck. I can apply for some free gear, but nothing on fraudulent products. Another shame really.
