The resale value is a good point, as long as they are kept well. Titleist do not try to get too clever with there MB irons which is a good thing (apart from ZB or 695). Either the 710 or 712 MB are both classic and would be a great choice. (710 can still be found new for a good discount)

Mizunos are also sought after, but the latest players versions have started to get away from that classic mizuno look IMO, I personally think the MP64 are very ugly. I much prefer the look of the 62, but some would say they are too plain. The MP68 are outstanding so you may want to add them or the MP69 to your list?

Callaways, certainly in the UK, seem to hold there value the least, I don't know why, so maybe not a good investment unless you are looking to wear them out over 3/4+ seasons.

Its time for new Irons, and I have narrowed it down to three:
I think you could split these up to 2 categories like blade and cb. It may help to figure out what you want a little easier. There's not a bunch of extra forgiveness with the cavity backs, but there's a little extra confidence that they may give you.

So the razr x mb's, and titliest mb's and mp 69's could be 3 in they blade category
2013 x forged. titliest cb's, and mp 64's would be the cavity back blades

I have personally played the razr mb's, mp 69's, mp 64's, and the 2013 x forged are presently in my bag. Out of these that I've played the mp 69's were probably my favorite to play in regards to feel and playability. I can't say that I hit allot of greens with these, but I enjoyed them none the less.

The 2013 x forged are the ones that I hit best out of what I've had. They are more forgiving than the mp 64's. To me they have a better feel because so I can tell how I hit the ball before seeing where it's going. When you hit them pure they feel just as good as anything else out there.

I would rate the forgivness of the blades I've listed as most forgiving to lest: razr mb, mp 69, titliest mb. The 69 and titliest mb are like what and what as far as forgivness goes.

The cavity blades forgiveness I would rate most to lest like this: 2013 x forged, titleist cb's, mp 64's. The 2013 will have a higher ball flight than the others. The 64's will be the softest feeling of the bunch.

I know I threw more clubs in here than what you asked for. Sorry about that, but hopefully this helps more than confuses you.

I'd say you've narrowed it down to a good three. obvioulsy if you're choosing between these clubs you are a pretty good player, so i would think all you have to do is hit all three of these sets and then make a decision. you're going to get a lot of people giving good reveiws on all these sets. it comes down to feel and forgiveness. i'm biad towards the 64's, but pushing you to choose them will only increase the chance of buyers remorse on your part. you have to love whichever set you choose, so give them all a test.

From experience and others' observation, the Cally mb are quite "forgiving" for a blade. BUT if you're looking to get mb irons, I'm sure forgiveness is the least of your concerns.

For whatever reason, I never have good experience with Titleist clubs. I won't elaborate, just that every Titleist I've tried didn't give the "numbers" I was looking for.

Never owned a Miz 64, but I did own a set of the 63 for a good 1.5 seasons. Can't beat it on feel!

I currently game a set of 2011 TM TP mb., in case you were wondering.

Maybe you have purchased already

Had a test 6i and 4i, Cally Razr MB & 6i and 4i MB 712's made.

Titleist -smaller head, lighter head weights, firmer feeling, just a touch easier to flight down. Stock they are more upright.
Cally - heavier heads avail & head weights are heavier; touch easier to hit than the 712's, the heads are flighted so higher launching, softer feeling than the titleist. There is more bounce on the callys.

Can't go wrong with either.

I've had my 712 MBs for a couple weeks. First set of blades I've owned, coming from Ping s56. Honestly, it's a bit of a let down -- maybe I was expecting too much. They don't feel noticeably better than the Pings, to be perfectly honest. Don't get me wrong, they're nice bats, and I did get the slightly lower trajectory I was looking for.

I have a set of the razr x mb's, only had them for a few days but I'll give you a quick rundown so far. Short irons are not too daunting to hit. In fact I have had better results with these ball striking wise than with past gi irons. The feel is outstanding, definitely the best I have felt. These are incredibly easy to work, it's effortless to curve a draw with my natural swing whereas with past gi irons its less pronounced and takes more effort. A+ for workability. The long irons, as with any blade, are tough to strike well. That's all I'm gonna say about that. I find they are very easy to flight and I have been able to play a variety of different types of shots with them. Overall these blades are forgiving for a blade and I think that many people could get good results. A bad swing is a bad swing, but even if you are less than perfect you will not lose that much distance. They let you know if you don't hit it on the screws. I think you should definitely give them a try, you will most likely enjoy playing them.

If performance is roughly the same I'd decide based on turf interaction, look at address, feel and price. All highly subjective or dependent on the players swing. I have the 64s and am very happy, however I wish the 8-P had thinner top lines they seem to be a little bulkier than the rest of the set. I didn't really notice for a while but just a heads up to look into.

I don't know if you have chosen yet, but I will put my two cents in. I notice that someone mentioned the 2013 x forged above, and I would agree with them. I compared the mp 64's against the Callys and I was getting tighter dispersion, and more distance with the x forged. It could be that the 64's had an x flex in them and I don't hit an x, but who knows. I also noticed that were very similar in terms of feel. You can't go wrong with any of them if you ask me.

I didn't like the looks of the MP64 either, at least when I first saw photos of them. But after setting up with them in person I bought them. They are fantastic and I love pulling them out of the bag for each shot.

I have also hit the Razr MB (about a year or so ago), first Callaway iron I ever hit and this one really surprised me. VERY nice. Several months ago I demo'ed the X Forged 2013 and expected it to be excellent due to the Razr MB experience and it did not disappoint although I ultimately decided on the Mizzys. Really impressed with the Cally players irons.

Never hit the 712MB but I've bagged the 695MB as well as other Titleist irons and they were all top notch.

Like the poster above, you can't go wrong with any of them and we're lucky to have so many excellent choices. If it were me, I'd choose the one that most appeals to me at address.

The Callys and the Titleists head size is perfect. I like small heads. The Mizuno, although like hitting a ball of butter off the face, I do not like the look of the head at address and the added head weight.

My personal vote...

1. Titleist AND Callaway. I actually thought about buying the Callaway blades instead of my CB's.
2. Mizuno

I actually use the Cally Mb's in my short irons and absolutely love them. I feel I get a great Ball flight and they seem to be quite forgiving for a blade. I also tried the MP-64's but was a bit underwhelmed. Maybe my expectations were just to high idk.

Great irons, a hair more forgiving than titleist mb's, and a touch softer, was a real toss up when I purchased.

All good choices - not sure you can really go wrong.

My 2 cents on the Cally Musclebacks - I absolutely love mine. Soft as butter, very workable and more forgiving than they look. I use all the way up to 4 iron with no issues. I've been playing with them now for about 3 years and I can tell you that these irons will be in my bag for a long time.
