I have been working with Tom Slighter to develop a LH Bellevue with a custom welded neck. He was willing, and able to do any and all of my requests. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Tom, and anytime I look into a new putter, the search will start and most likely will end with Slighter Golf. Anyone out there looking for a new putter, I recommend Tom and his Slighter Golf team. True class act.

I'm not sure why they would turn ugly, but I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with Slighter - and hopefully will have a project underway in the next week or so - all the specs etc. have been laid out and it was easy to arrange exactly what I wanted.

 

I only have to figure out how to pay for it without my significant other being wise to it. :drinks:

I got to agree with you 100%. Just ordered a custom slighter tacoma with a custom logo i've designed for myself and personal specs. While deciding on the putter design and specs, i felt that theres no limitations at all. Nothing is impossible on a Slighter putter. The customer just got to get creative and be original. So if anybody is getting a custom putter, i'll highly recommend Slighter.

Just for the record, what were the things you asked Tom to do other than the welded neck? I think it is great when an average Joe can get a custom made putter like what Tom offers. David Mills also offers this for the masses. I am thinking of getting a custom Mills putter so any insight to what custom work request is greatly appreciated. Who knows, I may want to incorporate these ideas in my first custom when I get it. Thanks.

The biggest thing was the welded neck, I was able to tell Tom exactly what I want and he agreed to do it. The specs were also special. Being 6' 4", off the rack specs have caused some problems in my stroke. Ordering a heavier, longer, and actually flatter putter will help me greatly. I am a strong tournament player, and take my game quite seriously, so to be able to design and have a custom made putter is a great advantage.

I have to agree with OTR putters not fitting me well either, in general. However, I have the opposite problem in that I am 5' 8" so I really need a putter between 33 and 34 inches. :drinks:

 

Seriously, it is very nice to have an option for a custom putter to specifications that are well suited to an individual. I have seen some of Tom's own work and he does make, what appears to be, very nice putters. I hope your putter turns out as hoped for.

I'm eagerly awaiting my Tacoma from Tom. It's due to be done around Feb. 8th. He has been very patient with me as I have changed things a couple of times. I'm in the short category (5' 8"), so I wanted a putter that is heavier (360g), shorter (33") and a flatter lie angle. I've already worked out that I would like to get a Portland made in carbon steel eventually from Slighter. February can't come soon enough.

Our avg right now for a custom is $370 + shipping.

Your man makes me go through some tough decisions some times. My dads birthday is coming up and he wants a Napa style. I plan to give him one with logo of the company he put up.

I have nothing but great things to say about my correspondences with Tom prior to ordering my custom putter. I to am left handed so Tom had to custom weld the neck for me. I also got the impression that he was willing to do just about anything to my putter for me. Great customer service is always refreshing.

sketches are fine. Our machinist actually prefers them. He puts them into the computer and then out they come on a putter. It is an upcharge. But I won't discuss pricing on here in respect to golfwrx and us not being a sponsor. Hopefully we will soon someday.
