I just brought my R7 Superquad TP back from years ago and I love it. I hit it just as far and controlled as the new drivers. It is definitely one of the better drivers Taylormade has ever made.

My friend plays this driver and he has around 3800 RPMS so need to reshaft it I guess. We went to the practicegrounds near here and he tried the new r11 and couldnt hit it as well..

Is there anyone who have changed shaft to their R7 with any success? =)

i traded mine for $100 too. i hated my decision at first. but then i bought a supertri tp and loved it. id definitely recommend trying a supertri man!

this is an awesome driver though. why i got rid of it, i dont know. but i do miss it a lot!

I have this driver which replaced my 975D (I don't change often). Tipped to 44.5" with a Prolaunch Blue stiff. I've bought 3 drivers since purchasing this one in 2008. Still haven't switched.

Penetrating ball flight. Black 460 head looks smaller like others have mentioned. Might not be as long as some of the new stuff but it's insanely easy to work the ball with it and goes straight when you need it to.

Would like suggestions for similar drivers though. I think she's going to lose her pop if I push it another season.

I still have this driver and was debating upgrading to something like 913d2. Has tech advanced to see a difference or am I best to stick with the r7

That depends. The R7SQ is a great driver to me about the only thing you're mising out in is the ability to try other shafts easily. I suppose the most recent crop of drivers may offer lower spin as well. It may not be a terrible idea to try the new stuff against old faithful and see if anything is better.

As some have learned by now, with the weights forward this head spins quite low and could compete with some of the current heads on the market spin wise....especially Tour heads bent open like mine. Weight forward technology lowers spin as we have learned recently even though we knew this long ago.

Interesting arguments I have the weights in the rear I had them set to a fade but my swing is much better now and I'm pulling left so maybe I'll try weights forward

I just got one at a local shop, no idea about the weights. Hit it long and straight, probably best driver I ever hit. Wow!!!

Remove the weight ports and make it as low spin as the M Family while mainting the same shape and WRX'er's would line up for them for months.
